Loaning a player in the hope he will be sold is bullshit. Show me one other club who has loaned out there best player mid way through the season in the hope he will be sold. Its the most redundant f**king excuse for Weemac going. If he wants to go & someone wants him then stump up the f**king cash & you can have him. Otherwise f**k off.
This is what MC should be saying. Not this bullshit about oh we need to sell him so were going to shop him around. He'll be f**king shopping him around in a few months while playing in Asia.
This is the last straw for me with MC. Get out of the f**king media, shut your f**king trap, & start taking some advice in how to run a football club.

Losing Weemac hurts beyond measure. He is for mine, simply the best Mariner we have ever had - and the best import the HAL has ever had.
Between the lines I'm reading, Japs want proof he is good enough before they will buy out his contract. Weemac wants it, so club is paving the way. It's what we do. MC just doesn't put it very well. And everyone is in pain.

Not much wrong with the model. We develop top talent & sell it. It's actually a good model as young exciting players will want to play for CCM as we have the best record of producing & selling good talent. The only thing the player needs to do is work hard & show how good they are. It's hopefully more attractive than lower level europe football.

On the weeMac swap for Ibini ... my understanding is he is looking at the Drive Bys and Flying Circus no certainty to come ...

I have to have a whinge...
What a disgrace. We're well into season and he picks up and leaves. Good on him he got his opportunity he wanted and we knew it would come. Then decides he wants to take clarky with him, he's pushing the boundary there taking staff while we're trying to get our season going and causing a disruption. Now he wants to take our best player who day in and day out performs at 100% and the player you can always count on to put on a good show and to top it off.. ON A BLOODY ONE YEAR LOAN TERM! No we won't get any money, we THEORETICALLY get Ibini who wasn't all that impressive to be honest and is coming off a terrible spell in China where he did nothing note worthy.

This was supposed to be our big season, we got +5000 members and we were supposed to show everyone the great football we can play but unfortunatly I don't think many of the members will carry onto next year.

Its never pleasant to lose our best players but we have been doing it year in year out and we always recover. There are a multitude of exciting young players to come through and we will have the odd average year. That is just the way it is and if it helps the clubs survival then so be it. Bernie has potential and i'll welcome him back. If Wee Mac impresses in the J league we will get a good sum for him, otherwise he will be back. Not impressed with Arnie though, but i guess he is giving people opportunities to set themselves up. I am always just glad to have a team locally to support, and even with Wee Mac and maybe Trent going we should still be able to be competitive this season. We are only getting bad press because we are the little club that does better than the big ones and that p*sses people off! Win on Thursday and we go 4th with everything to play for.

You sign up to be a member because you want to be part of club. If you don't feel that connection you start to question why.
If you were a new member who was talked into joining, or responded to the drive, what have we done this year to cement you as a long time member?
On the other hand, what have we done & said to get you to not want to come back.
Well MC is making it very hard to not only support the club right now, but try and convince others to as well.
I thought the A-League was a "shop window" and proven as we have already sold plenty of players to keep things ticking over.
Now we need to put our best players on display in other leagues?
Obviously the fans and results are very low priorities, given this and other recent things happening.

The business model is what it is, and, not uncommon at all. Unless we can sign up thousands more members and additionally get thousand more non members to home games to cover the clubs overheads it will be this way for some time yet I would imagine. None of us are privy to the clubs balance sheet and PNL statements but clearly the budget and finances need to be managed and massaged each and every day, if not, there won't be a club. As such, I won't let the loan or sale of a player affect my loyalty to the club.
Sure I want us to be a championship contender, sure my idealistic expectations are high given the past 3 years, my realistic expectations however are firmly centred around wanting the club to be there long term, if it means that the business model stays as is, then so be it.
Having said that, It doesn't make the loss of key players and personnel any easier. Equally, I don't like the way this has been communicated to the public.

What I'd want is a 1 yr extension to McGlinchy's deal with CCM as part of the loan.
We are losing him for 1 yr of our contracted time. if he came back because it didn't work then his contract ran out in say 12 months after that - we'd potentially loose him for nothing at renewal time to say a SFC.
However people are missing a loan fee is being paid - We just don't know how much. Is it equivalent to say selling Berni but we want say triple to sell McGlinchy?
Are all Mariners players on transfer friendly contracts? Low pay but the attraction of an easy sell unlike say Victory who can afford to & said no to the sale to Crystal Palace for Milligan. Trent just re-signed but you would think it would have a friendly transfer release figure in it much like Bozanic did.
