is the former coach f**king us over 1 month before the season when he could’ve left 3-4months earlier?
Sorry man but this rhetoric can get in the f**king bin tbh.

Was the Hibs job available 3-4 months earlier? No.
Do these jobs come up often? Absolutely no.
Would it have been available for him again in 12 months? Probably not.

We offered more coin than we’ve offered any other manager for him to stay. In the end, the chance to be back close to his old man was huge for him after losing his mum last year.

Sure, timing sucks, but probably time to let go of the whole “he f**ked us over” thing.

why is everyone big mad? Settle down, we're in a rebuild phase. I don't care if we come last, as long as our youth get time on the field and experience I couldn't care less.
Look at Howard-Belle or Paul Izzo, they spent time here when we were shit and look how fantastic they are doing for their clubs now. Just chill out, hope the coach focuses on youth development for a season, look for some better signings in the new year and finish above the jets at the end of the season.

I thought we improved. Again this high press style means we're vulnerable to the counter but we looked the more likely to score all game. Should have won this.

If this is how we intend to play we need to put our chances away. If we don't, we lose.

Dumb by Torres. Frustrated, obviously, and frustrating.

Our bench is weak. Getting closer to our starting 11 each game.
Based on our current high press style we'll need some rejigging of recruitment in January.

Ok it’s very disappointing losing but in all honesty I don’t think we are playing that bad. Again we put our chances away we win that game. I thought we were the better team. I’m liking our high press. I’m happy to give this team some time. Hopefully in January we can get some players that suits this style of play and move some on that it doesn’t. I personally think 2 or 3 changes in players and we are winning. We just have to find a way to win a few games in the meantime

Roar will destroy us on Sunday as their press is so much better than ours. I’m predicting the team gets booed off the field next weekend.

Did we? Didn’t feel that way to me. Weren’t many occasions I thought we were unlucky or it should have gone in
Tulio should have scored that spectacular volley.
Danny is not saving Theo's rasping shot and I doubt Oli Sail is either so we were unlucky Cook was playing (I think he is a very shaky keeper in general but he got the job done last night). Theo's other shot was palmed away and if we have anyone in the middle of the box its a simple tap in.
Tulio had a very could chance early when he should have slotted in the far corner.
Paull could have buried a chance.
Faz had two good opportunities.

We weren't unlucky but we had plenty of chances to score.

No one is destroying us.
I actually think we are being destroyed from the inside out. Not deliberately, but the core has been utterly destroyed and left us completely vulnerable to all opposition. If nothing changes we are going to get hammered. It’s days of old.

Happy to disagree but will also see how this conversation holds up as the season progresses. Would love to be wrong, but..

No one is destroying us, especially not a team that conceeded 5 goals against Wellington.
Adelaide did, we were lucky it was only three. Roar will make finals this year. Some defending blunders that will not happen every week. Aldred is normally very solid.

Yep we look good for 20 mins then you just know an error and counter attack is going bring us down. Staj out managed us last night, his changes at half time worked a treat.

Hopefully with Torres out get to see more of Di Pizio and younger lads given a chance for some more minutes.

And might force a different way of thinking that might work.

Our press isn’t working because the team has to move and slide in unisen.

There is too much room in behind our mids on the counter which means we need to adjust the spacing between lines and risk opposition going over top of back line rather than one/two’s past our deeper CM.

Or hold that straight midfield line better like a brick wall.
You can press without being ‘sucked in’ but need the 2 straight lines of 4 to move foward.

Even the 2 forwards need to slide together from side to side as they press which I’m not seeing.

So in summary, if pressing do a 4-4-2 so your covering the width of the field better but compress the side with the ball.

Then do a ‘see saw’ slide! forward and push them back to keeper who clears ball and then possession of up for grabs again……….

However as soon as we win that high ball or it falls to us, first movement needs to catch them off guard which is where we are lacking the focus to go at them straight away while they are still flustered from being pushed back.

The end.

I think you’re giving some low % or tight angle chances a bit much credit. Theo’s long range shot is the kind of worldie an opponent would curse but it’s not something I would say suggests we look like scoring or is helpful for seeing our attack developing.

We look like a team hoping for individual moments of brilliance or an opposition mistake rather than one with an attacking plan/shape. That never goes well long term.
