ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hell no!
Just got back from my walk by inspection with the dogs ;D

And the big scoop is...

That today they have been watering the pitch!!!
Extensively, at least a good 6 hours worth!

Clearly they are now desperate to transform the two tiny and one biggish squares into someting remotely resembling the now green and pristine looking like the rest of the pitch, and not the current bright yellow/brown.

Inside reports state this may be largely so that no one can see just how little of the pitch Council were willing to fork for to re turf.

Gripping yes ;)

With the colour you are quoting the relay to be i'd be surprised if they forked out anything at all.

Id be shocked if there wasnt something in the lease which stated that the Council were not responsible and wouldnt fork out any coin for any surface upgrades

Well today someone forked out for some more sand but only for the new squares.
And so now the former yellow squares are looking decidedly white.

I think I might start a pool on what colour they'll turn them next...
The longest odds will definitely be on green ;)

The council, and by extention, rate payers pay for the upkeep of the field. It uses 2/3 of the budget for central coast fields

Are you saying Jesus that they withhold/don't feel it necessary to spend a third each year...?
No he is saying it comes under Council's Open Space and Leisure Servives R0 rated sports grounds and that of all the allocated funds for ALL sportsgrounds in the LGA, Grahame Park gets two thirds of the funds.

Without knowing what singos mob tip in, Gosford City Council tips in $270 000 towards field maintenance each year.

Also re the Canberra move, although mariners are recieving a sum of money for playing two matches down there it was recommended by a lawn and turf maintenance consulting group that the field not be used for a period of 5 weeks in order to do significant works. This was recommended after the FFA raised their concerns to Council's GM.

OT, i was unaware previously, but CCM actually own the new video screen and charge a decent little sum for it to be used by central coast stadium for NRL, Rugby and other events(excluding comminty events)

That makes sense - Energy Australia pretty much bought it for us, didn't they?

It was a grant from NSW Government made to Gosford City Council rather then to CCM. On top of that CCM receieved a loan from GCC. So in reality GCC just handed CCM the $250k grant and CCM have sole ownership.

Cute. I presume that there would be attached conditions that would stop CCM taking the screen with them were they to move to Tuggerah (and therefore to WSC)?

Simple solution, build a new WC stadium at Adcock Park instead, and GCC can flog Graham Park for whatever the hell they want. ;)

Build a 25k (upscaleable to 40k) rectangualr flat pack stadium at Adcock?

It was front page of the express earlier this year because the bean counters accidently gave it all to the department, and then had to take the 2/3's out to give to the stadium
