To be fair, I would have blown much higher than that 17 hours after my wedding.

Memo to self if I am ever dumb enough to do it again - dont pick an English Church with a pub next to it and dont get in there 4 hours before the ceremony
You could always drop the church part and just go to the pub!

You obviously haven't learned have you?

Most of the NRL world cup teams will have players whom you recognise as most have parents born over seas so they can playfor those respective teams.

Quite brilliant. does that fact alone not tell you anything about this farce?

Didn't a player get a call up to Tonga, then someone pulled out for Australia, so now they are in the Australia squad as a replacement lol.

They go back down the bloodline many generations to fill squads.

Using that rule in football, I could play for England Germany France or Scotland haha

You could be right, im not that up to scratch with what the croatian team and did not know that they had croation nationality.

To use another scenario, U-R-Gay players playing for quatar. It happens in sport all over the world.

in 1998 ante seric was selected and named on match day for both sides of the friendly between australia and croatia. he chose croatia, and they won 7-0 on the day before going on to the world cup we had failed to qualify for against iran the previous november.

Regardless...croatia should pay for their AIS training costs, which was paid for by the Australian tax payer.

RUGBY League star Willie Mason has been stopped by police while partying on the Gold Coast with a notorious bikie gang associate and convicted criminal.

The high-profile Sydney Roosters player - out of Australia's World Cup campaign due to injury - spent Thursday night and early yesterday in Surfers Paradise nightclubbing with Dion Francis Spizzirri, who has a lengthy criminal history and close links to the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang.

Police, who keep a close eye on the movements of bikie gang members, questioned the pair after they left a nightclub together and entered a car park next to the Surfers Paradise police station just after 1.30am yesterday.

Police sources said the men's details were taken and logged.

They were earlier seen drinking with a group of women at The Bedroom nightclub, where patrons can lounge on lavish beds next to the dance floor. The beds cost up to $500 to reserve.

Mason, Spizzirri and their entourage are also believed to have visited the new multimillion-dollar nightclub Sin City.

Spizzirri's criminal record includes a conviction in 2000 for grievious bodily harm, for which he was sentenced to more than three years in jail. He was also charged over alleged drug-related shooting in 2004 which left a Hope Island man a paraplegic.

Spizzirri and another man were last year acquitted of attempted murder after two trials.

Mason could not be contacted yesterday but Roosters CEO Brian Canavan said: "I don't know his movements. I know he's been having pretty intensive physio on his reconstructed knee.

"But he's hard to miss. I don't think it's mistaken identity one.

"First of all, I'd like to check with him to make sure that's what he was doing and where he was.

"If he was there, he is on leave. The players are on leave.

"Let's hope (Spizzirri) is not a personal friend. If it's true it would be out of character."

The Queensland Director of Public Prosecutions has lodged a rare High Court appeal after the Court of Appeal overturned another Finks bikie gang associate's conviction for the 2004 shooting.

Spizzirri, 27, was released from jail last year being jailed for three years over the shooting. He later pleaded guilty to unrelated charges including threatening grievious bodily harm, obstructing a corrections officer and wilful damage.

Southport Magistrate's Court was told Spizzirri threatened corrections staff that they would go to an early grave and told one prison officer he would "drive your jaw through the back of your head".

Australia did received the cost of their training in the last World Cup when Joe Simunic  got  3 red cards and not winning the game to allow Australia to progress or have we forgotten that?

Brisbane Broncos half-back Peter Wallace has been charged after a scuffle with pub bouncers during a night of partying on the Sunshine Coast.

A police source has confirmed Wallace was arrested after refusing to leave O'Malley's Irish pub at Mooloolaba about midnight (AEST).

It is believed Wallace was celebrating his 23rd birthday.

While not officially naming Wallace, police media said a 23-year-old had been issued with a notice to appear in court in relation to failing to leave a licensed premise and disorderly conduct at licensed premises.

Wallace is due to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 14.

A spokeswoman for O'Malley's declined to comment. Comment is being sought from the Broncos.

The alleged incident has come after a tumultuous year for the Broncos.

Karmichael Hunt, Darius Boyd and Sam Thaiday are currently under investigation over an alleged sexual assault at a Brisbane nightclub.

Captain Darren Lockyer recently admitted to an altercation with a bar manager during a drunken night out, but only after video evidence proved it was him.

To combat the drinking culture at the club, Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen and coach Ivan Henjak last week introduced a strict anti-drinking policy for players.

The 10-point plan includes curfews and no drinking between some matches.

Cullen said the change was a result of a very young squad with a "lack of strong, mature leadership group".

He said breaking the rules would result in players being suspended

I have a theory on why  this happens, is it that NRL players have reached the pinnacle of there carrers and therefor have nothing else to achieve ? so they feel they can celelbrate by hitting the piss 24/7.

While football players, particualy those in the A-league, are at the top of the Australian game but they stil have the socceroos and europe to play for so there less likely to do somthing that will hinder there progress .

Or are NRL players just realy realy realy stupid ?

combination of stupidity and culture

the rugby league culture at all levels is one of hitting the piss and hitting the piss hard with your mates

throw in a lack of brain cells in the most and these incidents are bound to happen
