ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

On that note, is bluetongue having any games ?
I saw an ad in the express for Scotland v Fiji ................ROFL....they don't even know what Rugby League is in Scotland ffs.

How many players in a team 12 or 13 or something like that....you'd be lucky to find that many members of the public in Scotland that know wtf rugby league is!

Any football supporters caught going to this joke world cup and putting money into the coffers of the NRL should be strung up in public and laughed at!! :p

the unsaid point is that the reports of the NRL's death are premature, especially when you consider relative crowd numbers between the two codes' regular seasons.

NORTH Queensland Cowboys NRL star Carl Webb has been charged with drink-driving just 17 hours after his own wedding.

The Queensland State of Origin representative was pulled over by a booze bus at 7am on Saturday in Flinders St East, Townsville, after driving back to clean up after his wedding reception.

Police have charged Webb with a BAC offence - a blood alcohol concentration of more than 0.05 per cent and below 0.15 per cent - and he will appear in court on November 27, the Townsville Bulletin reports.

Webb had celebrated his reception in a marquee on Friday night and got behind the wheel after several hours' sleep.

Police confirmed he returned a positive breath test but did not release his exact blood alcohol reading.

However, it is understood Webb blew 0.10 per cent, twice the legal limit.

Cowboys chief executive Peter Parr said while the club could not condone Webb's actions there was a lesson to be learned for all drivers who had consumed alcohol the night before.

"It's a lesson to everyone, for Carl and to a lot of other people that despite the fact he had a big night, having some sleep doesn't bring you straight down under the limit," he said.

"He's learned a harsh lesson in that way.

"Carl is well liked and respected by everyone at the Cowboys and in the community but on this occasion he has made a serious misjudgment and must now take responsibility for his actions."

Webb said he did not encourage drink-driving and had tried to do the right thing by not driving home the night of his reception.

But he admitted that his actions in driving the next morning were wrong and issued a public apology.

"I wish to apologise to everyone involved at the Cowboys including our sponsors and fans for putting myself in this situation," he said.

"In no way do I condone drink-driving and I have learnt a valuable lesson, in hindsight I should have had someone else drive the car back to the reception location for the clean-up."

To be fair, I would have blown much higher than that 17 hours after my wedding.

Memo to self if I am ever dumb enough to do it again - dont pick an English Church with a pub next to it and dont get in there 4 hours before the ceremony

Yeh, I blew 0.19 on a mate's breathalyser at 8am up at Bathurst on the weekend and it wasn't a massive night. Its actually a bit scary how easy it would be to be over the morning after.
