ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

From the Sunday Telegraph..... seems their own broadcaster isn't even that interested.

A near sell-out, more than 30,000 tickets have been sold for the SFS clash between the Kangaroos and Kiwis.

Since when is 30k a near sell out of the sfs? It holds closer to 45k doesnt it?

Still not bad for an opening ceremony and 2 games... including the biggest game of the tournament...

well it's like pie. if you ate two thirds of the pie you would say you ate almost all the pie. of course taking into account the NRL fudge factor is closer to a third full and the bosses eating all the pie.

hmmmm pie

and skilbeck not pi, pie ;)

lot at Channel 9's 20 to 1 last night. Theme was 20-1: Sporting Scandals.

At 13 was every single NRL and AFL star caught in off-field controversys such as Fevs pissing on a hotel incident, Pub brawls, Didak being involved with the melb CBD gunman, Ben Cousins etc etc

at 12 ranking MORE of a scandal, was the incident at SFS in our international friendly with Ghana when they didnt play their national anthem.

The NRL dont want any new teams therefore it is unlikely that the Bears proposal would get up. They want someone to relocate.

I hear people say that this is a league town. Do you guys really think that this is the case? Football has consistantly had greater player regos than the other codes combined. This hasnt just occured since the mariners hit town either. Its been like that for years. In addition, the NRL games that have been played on the coast along with city v country games havent really been huge crowd pullers. The games that are played at bluetongue have usually involved newcastle to pull the northern crowd.

Whats the basis for calling this area a league town anyway??????

how would it affect our crowds?
we've had 4+ years head start which is good but it is a traditional league town
Doesn't harm Victory crowds in a mad afl city. Nor newcastle. Or any other club for that matter. Can never understand the worry that sports played at opposite sides of the calendar are competing for seats. Can only have a detrimental effect if sports fans are insular & refuse to venture outside their chosen church group for fear they will be struck down by the devil.
The facts prove that's not the case with the general sports fan population.

Completely agree with Jolly Roger.Playing wise the Coast has always been a football town. Rugby league would only work on the Coast if it was a true Coast side - and who wants it anyway? Fans of RL have been supporting their teams for years and are not going to suddenly convert to North Sydney or CCRL fans. They may go to see their team play but I doubt that they would go week in week out to watch a team they don't support. That is why they get poor crowds when Melbourne Storm play here. Nobody cares for them.

There are still many North Sydney Bear fans who were extememly pissed when the bears and manly combined.... and would love to see the bears resurrected... and there are those Nth Syd fans from syd who would travel to watch them play.

My dad and his mate quite regularly got to sydney to watch them play.  Dont see why it wouldn't happen in reverse.

P.S.... is it home time yet?

Sadly not and I have to drive from Brookvale To Randwick for a 4pm meeting.....................

They couldnt survive without a leagues club backing them and Norths (or whatever they call themselves) are hardly likely to fund a team 80k's away.

Never,ever happen
