ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

In fairness, are we going to put Robbie Kruse's behaviour in here?

Let me think about that......... "NRL Hooligans thread"; Kruse doesn't play NRL; Answer = NO

The people running the Rugby League World Cup are world class.....

"AUSTRALIA are no longer certainties to lift the World Cup on November 22 - because once again the trophy is missing.

Once found on a Bradford rubbish tip after being lost for 20 years, the venerable cup was sent from Melbourne to Brisbane by courier late last week. It is the first time it has travelled without an escort so far in the tournament.

The courier company's computer system duly broke down, rendering the scanning system which finds containers and packages inoperable. Officials said they thought it was at Brisbane Airport but weren't sure where.

"They still haven't found it? Geez," tournament director Colin Love said to The Daily Telegraph after watching Australia beat Papua New Guinea 46-6.

"I'll just say this. Let's hope it isn't another 20 years before it shows up."

Other officials said they hoped the Cup, which had been sent north for a Harvey Norman promotion, would turn up soon.

Meanwhile PNG coach Adrian Lam has revealed 2015 as the target date for a team in the NRL.

"And the (Queensland) State League has to be sooner than that," he said.

Lam agreed with NRL chief executive David Gallop that the bid would be a complicated and expensive exercise and joked: "They might have to play with bullet-proof vests or something, the visiting teams. We'll get the blow-darts going." "

I would not laugh to hard...

"The Jules Rimet Trophy, originally named Victory, but later renamed in honour of former FIFA president Jules Rimet, was made of gold plated sterling silver and lapis lazuli and depicted Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. Brazil won the trophy outright in 1970, prompting the commissioning of a replacement. The Jules Rimet Trophy was stolen in 1983 and never recovered."

Thats OUR world cup trophy, for those that dont know. I know it was stolen, not lost, but still...

We lost it too

On 20 March 1966, four months before the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England, the trophy was stolen during a public exhibition at Westminster Central Hall. The trophy was found just seven days later wrapped in newspaper at the bottom of a suburban garden hedge in Upper Norwood, South London, by a dog named Pickles.[3]

OK, virtually no one does - check the level of interest in your "game" outside bits of NSW, some of Qld and 6 poxy northern counties in the UK

Expect better research from an educated man pole.
The comp that  no one gives a flying about a pack of rapists/drunks and low lifes having a make believe WC, is outrating the aleague on paytv by a large margin with only the bottom team matches of lesser interest to Australian viewers. That leaves the aleague well below that of the comp that no one gives a flying about, & the acl final equal to a pack of rapists/drunks and low lifes having a make believe WC, wouldn't you say?
You had best check the fta ratings of the other matches too brother. They are up to & over 10 times that of paytv.

Using that logic you could say that no-on gives a f**k about the Olympics and the (football) WC is superior.

IMO the world cup in almost any sport should be more "important" or popular than a local or regional club competition, especially in a relatively weak region like Asia.
i.e. the European club competitions and regional club tournaments are popular worldwide as Europe is considered a strong region.

Any world cup should be considered significant. It's just that most people find the more competitive ones more entertaining.
