lol. What on earth are you on about P-bogan? Our home kits great and our away is simple but decent and well within the FFA directive.

P-bogan. Good one.

I mean that I find it strange that the FFA allowed the mariners to have 2 kits that are basically 2 home strips and would clash heavily with the jets' strips as well as GCU.

Re turn up,
Ahhhh, it's a wednesday night where the schedule was bumped and amended for you f**kers (Ingrates) Should be enough said,
But on top of that it's EAS! Worst place to visit in the HAL.

the FFA and NSW gov't would have had the final say on changing dates for the fixtures, not the club. fair enough, the derby obviously isn't that important if it irks you so much that you have to watch the game in an unfinished stadium or miss out on one or 2 hours sleep.

Can I ask why Breeze had the right to blow fulltime when he did? The ball wasn't cleared, it was backed over the goal line for a corner to us. He's not allowed to call fulltime at that point, surely? <_<

Straight from the Laws of the Game:

"The match lasts two equal periods of 45 minutes, unless otherwise mutually agreed between the referee and the two teams... Allowance is made in either period for all time lost through:

• substitutions
• assessment of injury to players
• removal of injured players from the fi eld of play for treatment
• wasting time
• any other cause

The allowance for time lost is at the discretion of the referee."

Basically, he can blow full-time when he wants. See the Everton/Manchester United game earlier this season.... Everton were on the counter-attack (Cahill had just scored to make it 2-2), the fourth official had signalled 3 minutes, and despite the fact that Pienaar (might have been Arteta) was about to shoot, he signalled full-time as the clock read 93:10. He felt that the added time had been played, and as the law says, it is his decision alone.

I'd have taken the draw beforehand but to concede so late and so freakishly was a huge downer and to an old age pensioner! (Sasho used to do that for us too). Decent debut by Sainsbury, we had half our NYL team out there, and they all did well. Love the confident body language of all three of them, Sainsbury not remotely overawed or intimidated but certainly McGlinchey missed the Pedj support. Its always hard to play at Newcastle esp when they are beginning to get some momentum and they were unlucky to lose Jeffers and Lubjo. That said, all teams are beginning to feel the heat at the halfway mark of the season and injuries are affecting everybody so for us to get a point would normally be a good indication that our squad depth is proving to be an asset - Ryan, Sainsbury and Amini were not first choice at the start of the season and Hutchinson has been overshadowed by Griffiths, we've has as big an injury toll as any other team - Bojic, Porter, Perez, Sainsbury (only got back two weeks ago) and, of course, Mrdja. I thought the EAS pitch was a disgrace, gods knows what LA Galaxy will think of it. I thought we played well in patches but Cullina is too cunning a coach to let us dominate. I liked the play of Bozanic (he came close to scoring)esp when he combines with Rose, Amini's touch and vision quite superb,he showed he could muscle up too - he's a real worry for defences with his ability to see things early. Thought we looked a bit cumbersome in central defence and Hutch, bless him, doesn't provide they same go forward as Griffiths. Ryan quality again and doesn't he like to take the piss with his footwork :)Matty Simon was immense, involved in everything, really up for the derby and a quality goal. And finally, 1-0 is never enoughand if you hang on for dear life sometimes an uncle Sasho gets lucky.
MoM 3 points Matt Simon
2 Bozanic - heavily involved
1 Amini - just enjoying his football

Coast - get an alternate kit that is actually a different colour to your home one!
Amini, Bozanic and Zwaan so good though, make sure you keep them..

Its nice to see that you pay so much attention to our kit! You should be pleased that your team was playing in your clash kit, at least its not predominatly baby shit brown ;)

As for the game, I missed the last 10mins as I had to go play 6aside.

What I did see was both exciting and frustrating in parts. The first 10mins were a write off. We were playing the long ball constantly and letting the scum dictate play.

But we slowly improved and started playing some lovely one touch football, landing passes and looking for the gaps to open up the defence. And once Matty scored in the 2nd half we picked it up another level.

Amini was great, there were a few times when he looked to be getting muscled out, but he manned up and got the ball back.

It's got nothing to do with how good/bad the jerseys are I don't actually mind either of CCMs jerseys but you guys seriously need to have an alternate colour that doesn't feature yellow. If Wellington had an all-yellow away jersey and came to play in Gosford I'm sure you guys would be fuming.

If you hadn't been such a bandwagoner and had been following domestic football long enough you would realise that the Central Coast selected their kit before their infamous ACL campaign, before GCU entered the competition. At this point your beloved Jets also changed their kit to that horrendous shit, which did not clash with the Coast's kit.

For what ever reason you changed back, creating a clash.

Dont lie the blame with us, we were the catalyst for the most recent change in shirts.

Given that Wellington selected their kits after us, then yes we would be... same as Gold Coast. Its not the Mariners fault that our kit is so awesome that everyone tries to copy them.

The 'horrendous shit' ACL jersey the Jets had was mostly gold with a bit of navy and a red part on the sleeve. How did it not clash with the Coast's kit? And if you're talking about the white away jersey, that's when the Jets are away. We were at home last night and the Mariners didn't have an alternate strip to play in.
And the Coast kit for the ACL was FOR THE ACL, they just couldn't be effed to make a new season one. Probably the only A-League team to keep reusing their ACL shirts for the season

CCM kits are a disgrace, no idea how the FFA allowed you guys to basically have 2 home kits. The only thing that was worse was the away support. Where the f**k were you guys?
2 home kits? WTF? One is predominantly navy, the other yellow. Not our fault YOUR management have two kits with plenty of navy in them.

As for "where the f**k were we"? Did you actually go to the game? We took up the entire southwestern corner, you fool. We even bought a banner for the front of the bay which said "Coast" - then again your comprehension skills probably stopped you from understanding basic English.
CCM kits are a disgrace? Your fans are a disgrace. A Newcastle 'father' mouthing off at me in front of his kids, then trying to have a swing at me in the car park - again in front of his young kids, because I said "I'm not here for drama"? Yeah, your kids are raised well.
f**king scum. f**k f**k f**k, that should have been 3 points.
What was with the bogan mum and her family over in the seats opposite yelling "shut up" at the start of the game? lol... does she realise you're SUPPOSED to cheer at the game.

As for Newcastle bogan scum... they seemed to go looking for fights last night. They don't realise a draw doesn't equal a win.
sasho is a good bloke though. we were heaps lucky, but we deserved a bit of luck considering we lost 2 of our key players in the first half which threw us out a fair bit. fair play to you guys, very unlucky not to win.
"Sasho's a good bloke"? Wasn't "Sasho a girls name" until he joined your club?

Are yellow and navy the same colour? :-|

One jersey is ALL yellow, the other is mostly navy with a couple of yellow stripes. It's not hard. Last night neither side clashed, it looked fine.

You don't have a white away jersey, that's the point. The "ACL kits" were made for the ACL and the following A-League season, and we've kept them since. I reckon the Jets could've got away with their gold home jersey last night as our yellow shirt is a stark enough difference, but the FFA saw differently.

There were so minimal Coast fans there last night, actually disappointing. The Coast banner was small, the support group was weak and small. I sat on the grass as close as I could to the Coast support group and I honestly was hearing the Newcastle support group louder. It was a pretty poor effort, no denying that.
Anyway match highlights, Amini with a handball on the way to first goal

Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne (albeit a few minor changes to the V) have used the same kit for ACL and a-league. 4 of the 5 teams to compete in the ACL.

While I disagree with you, Pat And P... At least your not just basic trolling and actually have some points in mind.

But like it or not, every team is struggling to get crowds to home games midweek, let alone for an away game.

Furthermore, while a large part of your supporter group has always been comprised of teen to early twenty students and the like, the overwhelming majority of ours have always been families with young kids - and there's not many parents willing to take their kids to EAS away as it is a pretty hostile experience - and on a wednesday school night?? Fat chance I'm afraid.

As to strips, GCU and Welly issue has now already been addressed. And I wonder how you guys would feel if Canberra or the gong came in and were allowed to use a different shade of gold and navy as their home colours?

As to clashing with you guys? Comeonnnnn, surely thats the best possible argument for us to KEEP our away strip exactly as it is ;)

Actually that's a fair point about the kits being decided upon before the ACL in '09, forgot about that. Still though, it's not really that hard to see that having those 2 kits is a problem when it comes to this match, and I bet that when the new kits are released next season that problem will be amended.

As for it being the Jets fault, universal mind, doesn't really make sense considering your club would have known full well that our home kit was always going to be gold and navy, and regardless of what colour our away kit would be, there would be a fair chance that we would still have to wear it even if we are at home.

As for "taking up the whole southwest corner" maybe a couple of you guys came dressed as red and blue seats because there seemed to be a lot of empty seats over there. Yeah I was there, and I saw you flimsy "COAST" banner. And it would be nice if you could make a retort without resorting to personal attacks every time. Kudos to those few guys who did turn up and were jumping up and down all match.
