Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Watching the gane again I'd forgotten the fanatstic run by Rose from his penalty area to the Newy goal line at full speed and still got the cross in, quite amazing. The guy is playing so well that we just take it for granted.

OK I'm going to try and make this my last post in the thread.

What do you expect mate? The kid denting your car is pretty extreme I must say, but this is supposed to be a derby match. You're away fans and you're going to cop abuse from the home fans, besides the behaviour of Australian fans in derby games is pretty tame compared to the Europe etc. Try going to a derby game in Italy as an away fan and see how you like that.

These sorts of posts always amuse me. Pre match: "f**k the scum, they're all f**king c**ts. Bunch of bogans, we're gonna smash 'em!". Post match: "Oh I was horrified by the behaviour some of the Newcastle fans displayed! They swore at me! Me!" And a lot of the comments about children are a bit of a cop out TBF. I bet you would have lost your shit had your little daughter called Sasho a pussy licker.

And that last sentence just underlies everything that is repulsive about Jet's supporters. You actually think that that comment is funny and acceptable.

If it was my four-year old saying this I would have been horrified and tried to excercise some proper parenting and not laughed with the comment.

Children are reflective of their parents.

Didn't you once support the Breakers? Funny how Jets fans are completely different from the ones who supported the old Newcastle teams.

How do you know that the family didn't have a laugh at what she said and then had a word to her about it after? Either when they were still at the ground or in the car going home. Nothing wrong with that.

Get a real problem, and don't try and act like it's solely a Newcastle thing. It's pathetic.

If it's not solely a Newcastle problem, why can we travel to all other grounds, including Sydney, have a bit of banter, and then a beer with the opposition supporters without any problems? Seems that Newcastle is the only one that can't handle the banter and have to take it seriously, spitting on us, smashing peoples cars. But maybe that is just normal behaviour there?

Whichever team you support, laughing at a comment like that by a child is disgraceful. It is extremely disurbing that firstly she has obviously heard parents/family members use that term but just as bad that they think it is funny.
There will be bogan supporters of every team, the mariners included. Don't let your support of a team make you condone or justify all behaviour of other supporters.
The sort of attitude/behaviour of a family that finds that funny is not conducive to building support for football amoing the general community. Perhaps you could all agree that developing support for football through the country is what we all want.

Where did I say it was different from the Breakers? I was young then but have fortunately grown up and learnt from past mistakes through experiencing different cultures by travelling and living in various places.

It appears you have not.

That said, I cannot in the life of me ever remember the Breakers supporters ever behaving like the Newcastle supporters do now. This current behaviour reminds of the times I used and go and watch the Knights and how they behaved to opposition league supporters.

For your information, the father or partner of the mother laughed and said "don't call him that, that's a compliment" which for me sums up his zero parenting ability and shows his lack of decency as a human being. The disturbing comment from the little girl was condoned and considered funny from both parents. I just hope she grows up a decent adult despite her lack of role models. If my child said that, I would come down on him/her like a tonne of bricks with severe punishments. The fact that you are trying to defend it, doesn't say much for yourself, but hey, we all have different values about life and morals. You might think it's OK but I don't.

As for your comments about Eurpoean derbies, when did Europe become the benchmark for acceptable behaviour at HAL matches? Does that mean that racist chants invloving monkeys are OK? Oh that's right, you once had a player who once called Vargas a monkey.

Don't try and defend the behaviour of some of your so called supporters. There's nothing wrong with admitting it's unacceptable, you'd be a better person if you did. I think it would be better if you didn't post here anymore if that's your attitude. Marinermick and Sally are spot on with their comments. I suggest you stop being so blind with your scum support.

As for the unprovoked damage to my car, I would call it a little more than "pretty extreme".

Does it make me a bad person if I also thought that being called a pussy licked isn't much of an insult? At least the insulter thinks you're getting some.

Maybe if I was a parent I would have a different view, but as it stands I'm a uni student who has a sense of humour and doesn't see a little kid swearing and their parents laughing at an unexpected or spontaneous outburst as being the heinous crime you all seem to think it is. You have every right to be furious about the kid who damaged your car though.

If it was an isolated incident then people would live with it. However, it seems to be the modus operandi. After receiving a keying to my car that had a Mariners sticker on it I won't be going there again (at least in my car).

Maybe that is why away support is always low at Scumcastle.

well...i think its safe to say that the scumdome is no longer on deb and mines radar....spat at , abused, cups of some liquid poured from the upper deck..AND...when we got on the bus to come home...some of the jets fans thought it would be
hi-f**kin-larious to put barricades in front of the bus....and then they come to BT and kick in shop windows on the way to the stadium...for f**ks sake, this aint the Ajax v PSV....

The langauge and sentiments in this thread paints a very poor picture of coast support. It is reciprocated from both supports. The holier than thou attitude in here is a nice mask. Continue to kid yourselves but reading the pregame comments you brought it on. lols at the ex newcastle rowdies who have pretended to have changed ways.

Pre-game comments bought it on?

There's a difference between making throwaway comments from behind a computer screen and carrying on like a complete c**t in person.

Don't you support the Bulldogs? In a decade of attending Knights games on and off, I can't say I've ever seen much trouble aside from last year when Manly played them, and a Sea Eagles fan in his early 20's decided he'd be well 'ard after the game and punch on with a Newcastle fan in his 40's. I've gotta say that Manly supporters are the worst behaved, especially after a win.

Onto A-League fans, and it is laughable hearing Scum fans try to defend their supporters' actions with 'It's a derby match, you're away supporters, what did you expect?' I have drank in the KB amongst Sydney fans, been to a pub in Perth that was full of Glory fans, attended several Roar matches as an opposition fan without trouble and been to Skilled Park as well (although they only have 3 fans so it doesn't count). Out of all those games, it is only against the Scum that there is any trouble. It is only against the Scum that the Police have to seperate both sets of fans after the game and force us to leave via a different exit. Time and time again the filth in gold (baby shit brown) have demonstarated the worst in moronic, bogan, pack mentality behaviour. Granted every team has it's idiot fans, but the Scum seem to not only have it on a much larger scale, but encourage it as well.

Deadset, you do realise that a large majority of people who attend Jets matches also attend Knights matches? This proves to me that you are so blinded by bias that you can't formulate a fair opinion.

In regards to the other fans, why would Perth of Brisbane fans want to start any trouble with you? They don't care about the Mariners. Neither do Sydney TBH.

Personally I've never been an away game at the coast without being sworn at or been threatened with physical abuse, heck I've seen a Jets fan pushed down a flight of stairs as I was leaving the stadium once. Having said that, I'm not going to say that all CCM fans are potty mouthed, violent bogans.

Nope, support the Knights, and the fact that you even mention the Bulldogs proves you reaslise how poor Knight's supporters are.

I don't really. I personally have never had problems with Bulldogs fans, however I know a lot of people who have, not to mention the publicity they have got from time to time. I also know other people who are Knights fans and have said that the worst visiting fans at EAS are St George fans, but again I have never been harrassed by them. I understand this thread is about the Jets, so comparisons with the Knights are going to be drawn. In a decades' worth of attending NRL matches and A-League matches, I would have to say that Manly fans carry on like the biggest morons (esp. after a win) and in the A-League the Jets are definitely the worst.

Some people on here are kidding themselves with the opinions that we (Jets) fans are the worst in the league. Total and complete codswallop.
It's a derby game, you lot do exactly the same to us at your stadium so please don't try to convince people otherwise. I have seen groups of your lot trying to start crap at gosford station innumerable times after derby games, not to mention the fact that we now have to stay inside your ground until your crowds disperse so as not to cop the hail of crap when we walk past CCLC on the way back to the train station. And any of your fans sitting above the away bays at bluetongue have been known to throw crap down on us as well until Hatamoto and the cops started making it their vantage point during the derbies.
And let's not mention the fact that on Wednesday night one of your lot king-hit a bloke in the fields on the way back to the tennis club, flares were let off behind the trotting track and the numerous carloads of your fans who were doing laps past the tennis club hurling abuse at people and then driving off high-fiving each other.
I am not saying we are angels, but please don't hold yourselves up as A-League pillars of virtue. There are dickheads on both sides.

Not to mention the fact you could see the very same opinions on sfcu about victory fans, victory about adelaide fans, and vice versa blah blah blah

There is a reason that cc vs nujfc, sfc vs ccm/nujfc, sfc vs victory, victory vs heart etc are classified as high risk fixtures by the FFA. Minorities on all sides who don't know where the line is.
