ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Nothin wrong with the rivalries and the banter but when it gets physical or damaging peoples property (and it's both sides) it's gotta stop ! I've always loved the derbies and the banter at bluetongue and eas has always been hilarious ...I've had beers with jets guys at eas who are some
Of the nicest guys ever but I've met some of the worst people too ...I'm sure it goes both ways ...end of the day we should all get behind our teams anyway we can without resorting to this sorta stuff ...rant done haha best of luck this weekend both teams

In a decades' worth of attending NRL matches and A-League matches, I would have to say that Manly fans carry on like the biggest morons (esp. after a win) and in the A-League the Jets are definitely the worst.

Isn't it funny that the 2 teams that share the fiercest rivalry with your team in both codes have "the worst fans" in their respective leagues? Have a think about how you might have come to hold that opinion.

Just ask what Brisbane and Sydney fans think of their experiences in Newcastle and you know it goes beyond derbies.

Well actually Sharks fans are pretty boganesque too, but I don't support Saints :p I would actually say that the NRL supporter group who remind me most of the Squadron is the CSSC, and I remember in 2006 after the match they broke down the permeter fence at EAS after a win, so that's that theory shot. Manly fans get the nod because I have been to Brookvale more than Toyota Park, plus a dickhead Manly fan punched a female friend of mine after the '08 GF.

I agree that every team in the A-League has it's wankers, however the Jets seem to have the GREATEST concentration of them, which is what the main argument is.

I know, I was just elaborating my thoughts on somebodý's 'Jets fans all= Knights fans" argument.

The Victory have a large wanker element in their supporter base as well, come to think of it.

I've driven down to Gosford for away games before and have parked in the big carpark next to the station. I had a Jets sticker on my window and a scarf on the dash. I came back after the game to find my bonnet had been key-scratched and there were cracks in my front window with little rocks on the ground. I've been spat at, sworn at, punched, abused at the leagues club, playing pokies at the leaguesy and my chair has been pulled out from under me, all from people with mariners gear on. My mrs originally came from the coast so once I went to the leagues club to watch a Newcastle vs Melbourne away game on the TV, have worn a Jets scarf whilst watching it, and had the scarf stolen from me and had beer poured over it.
In the very first preseason of the Aleague the Jets went to penalties against the Mariners in Gosford and I was standing two bays besides the Marinators to watch the penalty shootout and a grown man and his [10 year old?] son were standing next to me and were going for the Mariners. The Jets scored a penalty and I cheered and the man hit me in the face. Then I saw him and his son high5 each other.

But no, that would never be Mariners fans. Or that's the old fans. Or the idiots who ruin an otherwise glowing reputation.
I still drive my car, scarf on dash, sticker on window, to Gosford games. I still go to the leaguesy. Because I don't brand a whole stadium, and whole group of fans, by the actions of select people.

Must have been Hunter Mariners fans, mate. We all know there aren't any abusive or foul mouthed CCM fans.

Where did I say it was different from the Breakers? I was young then but have fortunately grown up and learnt from past mistakes through experiencing different cultures by travelling and living in various places.

It appears you have not.

That said, I cannot in the life of me ever remember the Breakers supporters ever behaving like the Newcastle supporters do now. This current behaviour reminds of the times I used and go and watch the Knights and how they behaved to opposition league supporters.

I can only remember one 'dust up' in the Breakers car park after a match. Can't think who against, but most likely Sydney Croatia. It was 'handbags' only.

Plenty of incidents when travelling though - mainly with the Greek and Croatian Clubs. The Italian Clubs (Marconi) etc. always gave us heaps verbally, but were generally non-violent.

But I can also remember going to Canberra in the early '80's with KB United and a Rowdies colleague got hospitalised after the match after a gutless attack. He was a little weedy bloke who walked off on his own, a little worse for wear after too many beers. He never attended a football match again I think.

Two years ago after a game I was threatened with extreme violence by a bogan CCM supporter for glancing at his missus (no teeth, track marks,etc.).

The Jets supporters are generally OK, although there does appear to be a higher than normal level of total wankers in the ranks.

Having personally experienced the great (Juventus), the mental (Man United away at Barnsley), the psychotic (Roma vs. Chievo), and the downright dangerous (post Champions League final in Rome in '09) side of European support, the mere thought of Jets fans thinking that they are in any way comparable to what goes on over here is beyond laughable. If they came within 2 miles of the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on game day they would shit themselves.

I have met _one_ solitary Jets fan in the entire history of the A-League who I would even remotely consider hanging out with outside of a game day environment.

Some teams (Millwall, Cardiff, Partizan Belgrade etc.) just have utter c*nts for 90 plus percent of their fanbase. It would seem that the Jets are Australia's version of this.

We all know that Jets fan do no wrong - but let me just let you in on a conversation I had after having my car keyed at EAS.

The conversation was with a Jets employee that our family knows quite well - our wives were childhood friends. Basically I complained about the treatment that I had received and vowed never to return to EAS. His reaction was - yep - we continually have complaints from the other clubs and the FFA who brand us as the worst place to visit.

No supporters are perfect - far from it - but it seems that Newcastle supporters are recognised by other supporters, the FFA and even their own employees as the worst.

I said that coming to Newcastle as a CCM fan is not even close to what it's like over there. So, yeah, good post?

Every group of supporters has there wankers. There's no denying that. However, a game of football shouldn't turn to punches and damage to peoples property.
