ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Mariners Coach?

Fury look like they'll be very poor. Unless of course players like Spagnuolo (who was AU's club champion in V2) and Agius (who may still have something despite being out of it for a long time) can deliver anything.

Just quietly, im excited to see the league take another step up in quality this year...
I just hope that some teams don't get left behind. I really hope that Fury are able to put in decent performances to build the game.

I think that will be the case for our club even if we were to win two seasons in a row....
I do enjoy being underdogs though.

Im sure Fergie will have them sorted, it's not the first time he's looked at a football!

I think Fergie will surprise a few people. I seem to remember that we are written off every season too

Except that the Fury's recruiting has been poor (Talay??? Santalab???), and the squad looks worse than anything CCM has put together. It will definitely keep the Mariners away from the bottom, probably vying with the Jets and at a stretch Phoenix.

Jason Spagnuolo and Fred Agius turned the fortunes of the Fury in a pre-season which previously had the fledgling team struggling against Hyundai A-League opponents.

Who made the comment about them needing to step up, hopefully more to come from them

However, AU were with a weakened side.

As were fury.

Both teams had reasonable sides, but not their top sides.

I would still have Fury penciled in for the bottom 4, with CCM, Jets and Phoenix making up the rest. Whether any of those four can sneak into the top 6, not that it's really hard, is another question altogether.

So....when does "God" make an appearance? Hopefully not like the biblical dude, who only makes an appearance on the final day!  ;D

And we will be judged by what standard?

Hmmm, Arnold as coach.....not. The way our piss poor management has gone about the rumoured change of coach at the end of this season is a disgrace and will effect all concerned. All to cover tight ass managements lack of funding for players. Still no marquee. Shame we can't sack management they are the weakest link in the club and my thoughts still stand that management are letting the club rot while they look after 'business' all the while lossing fans and crowd numbers. Makes you wonder if they are in it only for the short term. No point having a 40 million dollar acadamy without a team.

I have my doubts about McKinna but far more concerned with lack of serious injection of talent and managements poor, f**king poor management skills. I fear for the future of the club.

Our long term direction is the envy of other clubs with the Centre of Excellence. Its our short term health that is a concern and that is only down to how we perform on the field. TBH, if we can't get through a season or so of poor performance on the field, then perhaps we shouldn't be in the A-League. Its unrealistic to expect that we should play beautiful, effective football 100% of the time forever more. If Mariners' fans are that fickle then I guess we deserve to go down the gurgler.

Not that I'm saying its wrong to hope for better or to suggest ways to be better. Personally, I don't think its the club's long term vision thats the problem. We failed to buy players after Jedi left and before the ACL, and we payed the price on the field. I don't know the reason for that but I suspect its either financial or practical in nature (e.g. simply nobody available) and if thats the case its understandable. It would be nice if the club actually informed us what happened. And we're still waiting for all these players they're supposed to be buying yet the season is approaching fast. Its a nervous wait.......

Every couple of days there are news releases from other clubs regarding their player purchases or  other items of interest ..... zippo lately from CCM. Perhaps we may hear something after today's game. Supporters need some sort of feedback to keep the interest going so close to the start of the season.

I don't know anyting about the CCM business side of things, so can't comment, however the  board can't dine out forever on the Tuggerah C of E, they need to get the supporters onside with actions and not more words in regards to the team .... because that is what is all about. A poor showing in the first half of the season, and the C o E will mean nothing.
