ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Mariners Coach?

I don't think the management understand that they rely on the community's support to get the stadium full - that requires results on the field and communication, better marketing and being more accommodating to the supporters off the field.

The only thing remotely inspiring is Lawrie's twitter initiative.

Agree that club has dropped the ball in the last 2 seasons in regard to support engagement. But then again, so has FFA.

Tonight's result must be the final nail in the coffin regarding Lawrie. I think the board will now have enough reason for a reshuffle.

Welcome Arnie......

The team we put out tonight screamed of a coach that has lost the plot.

The sad thing is everyone (apart from Fruitbat) loves Lawrie and fully appreciates what he has done for the club.  However we stink atm and we stunk in the 2nd half of last year.
It simply cant be allowed to continue.

Lawrie is a great man and has some great attributes but he looks totally out of his depth without Ferguson and Tobin hasn't a clue.
Director of Football would be good or chief scout but he's not a coach at the current standard of HAL.

I don't understand how it's Lawrie's fault that Doig couldn't shake off McBreen and clear it despite being built like a brick shit house, and I don't understand how it's Lawrie's fault that Clarkie tried dribbling the ball through an attacker when he could have just kicked it into him to get the goal kick.

You all want a new manager and think results will just pop up, but what's he doing to do? He's just going to send out the same uninspiring retards out on the park to do the same thing all over again. Then you will want a new manager to do the same thing and we will end up like Sydney for the next 4 years.

Sorry I don't agree with you all, but I'd much rather give Lawrie a decent team to work with.

Trouble is that if they do that, they might have to explain why they didnt give him any $$ this season.

Far easier to punt him

i don't agree with tyson all the time, but he's made some decent points here.

i'll add to it that even when clark had f**ked up royally, what were the other three defenders doing to let mcbreen stroll in and tap home? and how on earth do you blame the manager?

i'm not impressed with our performance, but the blokes who pull on the shirt week to week need a f**king kicking at this point if they're going to stand about and hand over goals like that.

He built the team. He would have had a plan in place if a player was unavailable or injured. I want him to stay but to admonish of responsibility over the players that are at the club is incorrect as he has been at the club from the start.

And after watching Clark at LB last week he still chose him in the same position

Perhaps it's Lawrie who needs to kick them up the ass, but for all we know, he probably has and they aren't responding.

The only thing I can complain about him is his treatment of certain players. One example being that Kwasnik, Mrdja and Dyl Mac have all been dropped to youth to regain some form when they have lost it, but he keeps persisting with Simon.

Obviously the biggest problem in the entire line up. But who else was he supposed to play?

Thats the problem.

No new ideas and shuffling the same shitty cards instead of getting a new deck.

Lawrie's the Homer of the HAL.

D'oh...i think i'll pick Clarky....D'oh...I think i'll pick Bojic...D'oh..etc etc.

Wilko's attitude in the post match interview seemed to sum it up for me. Couldnt give a flying.

Thats the area that begs for a new manager. It seems Lawrie is now unable to motivate the boys. No matter how good his tactics might be, if he cant get them firing then there is no point. It refers back to the Fergie situation again, he took no shit. a) Is Lawrie too soft? and b) Do the players still respect this authority?

Who is our LB for the Youth?

I'm more interested in a change of approach than specifically a new coach - but if they have to go hand in hand to happen, then I have to say that change seems to be the most important aspect.

That said, I feel if we promote from youth, spend our cap and get a marquee Lawrie could probably still win us the toilet seat.

Two inform strikers for a decent length of the season and I think this thread wouldn't even be up here.

Sometimes no matter how good or how much of a nice guy the coach is,after a while the message goes stale.

A new coach, new message ,tactics etc can work wonders sometimes.

It can fail aswell but in our case the writings been on the wall for a couple of years now.
