ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Mariners Coach?

I for one will be watching closely arnolds( if it is right) contribution to the skills and shape of play he can bring after his years at "elite" level and he is a EUFA level coach.

And I wont have to read endless shite about LM's contribution to the world of Central Coast Football  and how we justify 4 points from 30 as ok

I would like to add that the appointment of Arnold might have a huge bearing for the COE.
His influence there might be inspiring (CCM management qudos)

Australian U23 coach at the head of the Mariners (if he can hold both jobs) would be brilliant for us.

Yet to be convinced of few things.

1) Is this new - or just a rehash of an old story.
2) That Arnold would be better than Lawrie - nothing suggests that he would be
3) That if there has been recent talks with CCM board that they are about coaching rather than organising a base area for the 2012 Olyroos.
4) That Arnold is the best that we could hope for.

Arnoldout's contract ends in June doesnt it?

Doubt the FFA would allow him anywhere near young players again TBH

Worse kept secret.

you reckon ;)

like many people, i'm not happy with this but trying to look at the bright side:
- he will have longer time with the players, to identify who he wants for next season
- he will more time to negotiate with other players
- we may get the new manager syndrome and get to the semis ;)
- he may get o/s players whether they are australian or foreign
- and lastly he may have time with lawrie to discuss who he thinks should stay/go

Arnie is unproven as a club coach but would have to be pretty useless not to improve on Lawrie's record in the last thirteen months. My problems with him are that having sat at the knee of the great master, the gambler, the roller of the dice, Guus Hiddink he appeared to have learned nothing when he took over the Socceroos for the Asian Championship; he only substitutes like for like, he doesn't use the bench as a tactical weapon which Guus did. And now, after a couple of years with the most inflexible coach in the history of football, a man who wouldn't even by a ticket in the office sweep for the Melbourne Cup for fear of losing, he is going to be the coach of our team? His Olyroo team did well to make the finals but then just defended and defended and hoped to knick a goal, hardly inspiring stuff - and no, Djite and Burns won't be coming - they hate him because he dumped them after they did the hard work of qualifying.

As for the CoE - the National Curriculum as defined by FFA is predicated on 4-3-3 - I really hope we have the right man in charge of that (it can't be Lawrie, he is welded to 4-4-2) - and the coach of the senior team really has to be in lockstep with the developments at the CoE. Is it Arnie - not sure, case unproven.

He does though have the phone number of every single Australian player in Europe...

means very little if the players do not respect him

Who were the overage players at the olympics again?  Oh thats right, f**king Jade North, David Carney and Archie Thompson................ WTF?

Forget my previous post about the aussie u23 coach benefits, we need a large banner at the derby with ARNOLD OUT emblazoned across it. F**k the game, we must send a message. Will bring everyone i can to the bay for this one. Will be my first visit to the bay and i will probably be well out of place but must join in to tell the management what a big mistake they are making.

Change of coach would be a good thing atm.
Just wish we could afford someone better than Arnold. We need a coach from overseas. :tv:

Well why not keep the coach, spend the  cap and get a marquee player :)

coz then the board might have to explain why they didnt do it this season and take the blame on themselves.

Easier to change the coach

LOL at arnoldout banners... its a rumor about a coach that may or may not be better than what we already have.  I admire the passion, maybe make a DONT SIGN SACKWACKER just to make sure
