ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

New Mariners Coach?

LOL @ C C Bears hopes.

They have no money, they have virtually no infrastructure and the RL have no intention of pissing off the Knights and Manly by putting a team up here.

Also, havent the Knights just sewn up the juniors on CC?

This is the News Ltd that is selling (writing off) its stake in the game right?

As for this thread, if DV hadnt chucked a wobbly, we would be up to at least 50 pages of obscure Lithuanian coaches by now.

I miss it

They have 3 million in the bank.. they have signed a number of CC sponsors and have over a million so far including a major sponsor... a face book petition with over , 13, 000 people signed to have them back in... Full backing of a number of RL media outlets .. to list a few 2UE, 2GB, a number of News journalist especially from the Terror... John Singo pushing hard...

IMO RL would be crazy to have a CC team when they have so many other options... but the CCB are a well organised, well funded & have heaps of RL media support...

This is a thread from The Roar (online sports site) it is one of a number from the RL folk about the CC Bears getting back in... But it covers most things... it is worth the read to see what could be coming...

Copy of one of the posts...

Robbo the Mariners and the Bears will work side by side,, we have been having dialogue with the Mariners for some time, and they also turned up to the recent CCBears launch at our office at Erina..

The CC Bears in the winter and the CC Mariners in the summer.. this was always the plan even going back to the Northern spirit days..

Problem solved (decent blog this one BTW)

As long as he brings Dyron with him though.

http://nqfuryfcthejournal.blogspot.com/2010/01/news-fergusons-coaching-position-to-be.html

On it goes - This Fowler / Ferguson feud has now led to Chairman Don Matheson admitting that Ian Ferguson's role at the club will now be assessed at seasons end despite the inaugural rookie coach being under contract.

I could see that as a real possibility, IMO Fowler is more important to that club than the coach... bring back the apprentice so he can over throw his old master!

Honest question.

Why would we bring back Fergie ?

He's doing his best to achieve a wooden spoon in his first season as a head coach.

???

Because he coached us to a premiership...

OK so if Fergie did all that why did we let him go and hang onto LM ?

Between them they will coach two of the 4 teams that won't play in a 'finals' series in which you only have to be in the top 60% to qualify.

When Fergie was here it was commonly discussed that he did the main coaching duties and dealt more with the tactics than Lawrie. I think that is still the case at Fury, he's done quite well with a very poor squad, but what it has pinpointed is, he can't recruit for shit.

Recruitment is Lawrie's strength, proved with signings like Jedi, Simon, etc. That's why they are the perfect combination and the reason behind 2 GF appearences, 1 premiership and 1 preseason cup.

I'd take Fergie back as assistant, although I'm not sure if he'd take a step backwards. Even moving Lawrie into a directors role with Fergie as manager.

I think it is fairly simple ... well simple in saying but complex in fixing...

If you look at the suggested Australian coaches that may replace LM ... well none stand out as being hugely better ... GVE, Fergie, Arnold Out, Cranky Frankie, Nick Theo, Kossie,

So is Alex Tobin ready yet ... is he good enough ... not sure TBH...

If we replace LM we must get a much better coach ... I can only see this in an overseas coach TBH.. Do we as a club have the knowledge to find and appoint and overseas coach ... HMmmmmmmm ... I don't think we do ...

Given we are suppose to have a special relationship with San Palo .. I would get one of there number two coaches and this will also help with the COE getting top players...
