ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

When I've been critical of MM previously one of my biggest concerns was not being able to see the plan, we didn't look like we were building to something but over the last couple of games you could see where we were trying to go. We've got some distance to cover before we can do it for a full game but when we can we'll be able to put up a fight for anyone in the comp. That's not to say we'll race up the ladder but we'll be in with a shot every week and that's a step up from where we had been.
That's the thing I noticed last night and Matty said as much post match, we stuck to structures, and the defence actually looked like a defence, not just a mish mash of players desperately clamouring.

The thing that I admired most was when we stopped a shot in or around the box, there was another defender nearby to clear the ball, which hadn't really been the case in recent weeks.

I feel almost as though last night might have been the result we got had we kept 11 on the park against Nix or Sydney.

Not only did we have numbers in the defensive box, we also had numbers in the attacking box. Had Eugene not got his hands on Pain's almost goal, Millar was there to tap in and Matty wasn't far away. In fact on a couple of occasions, we had too many in the attacking box and they got in each other's way.

The other thing I liked was his reception of Mr Hiariej (he deserves more than just Tom) when he came off. If there was friction, hopefully it has been extinguished.

Fair to say his mistreatment of Tom has alienated a fair chunk of our support - he has zero goodwill and needs to do something to get the fans back onside

If Mulvey starts Tom H in every remaining game, extends tom h and Millar’s contracts beyond this season, start Murray up front regularly, doesn’t sign Mitch Nichols and keeps Cisse away from the starting line up.

I might be okay with him staying.
Yup - then piss off meth mouth and his scum mate Kennedy when their contracts expire and we are all good

I think Mulveys comment both in Fox and the official presser were quite telling - in both interviews he was asked about Tom and how good he was, he made a point of saying both times that ‘he’s great, and tonight we saw what he can do and what is expected of him’.
Whether we agree with MM or not, I think that was a very specific thing to point out he didn’t think he was getting the full effort or value from Tom earlier in the campaign.

He tried to piss him off with Brama and Baro and he wouldn't go. He then froze him out.

He started him every game and it was clear at training he was not on the outer at all. But the game when he took him off at BT he must have been mighty pissed off because he tried to freeze him out after that.

Thankfully, he has come to his senses.

But yet still clearly harbouring the doubt !
- when every pundit worth a pinch of shit rates Tommy as the most desired DM in the comp.

Senses ?
I'm just seeing & hearing a 'sense of self' :-|

. apparently it is a perception of Tom's desire ... perhaps doesn't fit with Mulvey's interpretation of the Mariners spirit he is trying to re-invigorate

. that doesn't sit well with most fans, when for example, what we see is Hoole showing f**k all desire on the pitch

Agree.

Totally WRONG perceptions :
- Pim Verbeek Holger Osieck Vs Trent Sainsbury

Sains won that battle .... eventually !
