Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Ok let’s give Mulvey a option we have 2 home games if we don’t get more than 4 points out of it he walks if we get 4 points or more he stays. Let’s see how much he wants it and how much the players want him. I think that’s pretty fair.
To be honest we seem to play better away than at home, just seems that way not sure what the stats say.

Here's something to consider: there's a team in a different code which has had the same coach since 2012. 2013 & 14, they made the top 8 then bombed. Since then they've been bottom 4 and the fans (me included) have consistently been calling for the coach's head. They never spooned, but came pretty close. Then suddenly out of nowhere they made the 18 GF. The coach claimed that over the bad years he was slowly building, new players in, churning others.
The point I'm making is maybe we're changing coaches too often, maybe we should keep a coach for an extended time and let him build, give him the resources needed to build effectively. That means of course a few seasons of shit, but we Mariners should be used to that now. More factors come into play of course, but it might work.

Why would MM quit? He will never get another job in Australia after this one if he goes now.

He’s just going to trott the same shit out every week about how great we were but we make stupid mistakes.

It’s not like we can afford to pay him out so he is safe

From what I’ve seen I don’t think MM is the person to invest three years in. You could write a essay on everything wrong with the team and his finger prints are all over it. Like the concept just need the right person.

Agree. We're all guilty of wanting quick results (which is fair) and as a result very few coaches get the chance to prove their worth.

Some how I don’t think the Club will get rid of him, it’s a valid question but the season is so far screwed I don’t think it really matters. Part of me wants him to stay so he has this record on his CV, he deserves it because I’m pretty sure we are not going to win a game so plenty more losses to put beside his name.
I've been pondering the machinations of #MulveyOut the last few months and it was while reading an article about José Mourinho (prior to his sacking) that I came across a quote from former ManU player Gary Neville that really struck a chord with me about the Mulvey conundrum.

"As manager, you know full well you're the one who carries the can," Neville said. "The club won't get rid of £700-800 million worth of talent when they can get rid of a manager who might cost them £25-30 million."

The dichotomy of the above to that of the situation with Mulvey & CCM I find hilariously, yet sadly ironic.

Any club in the world would most likely prescribe to Neville's logic, but unfortunately for the Mariner's and ourselves, it's faaaar cheaper for the Club to sack a bunch of our poorer quality players than to give Mulvey the punt.

And for that I'm sure Mulvey is counting his 'lucky stars' ....... and his ca$h from the guaranteed pay cheq's that will come regardless of his results moving forward.

Also just read that Wagner has sacked himself from Huddersfield after losing 8 from 9 games. What will be said when Mulvey has a record of 25 losses from 27 games, he is so lucky we jagged those two early draws so he avoids the perfect record.

TBF Neville was a f**king piss poor FB and how the hell those mugs at Valencia thought....."oh this bloke was a fairly shitty but commited player, he has had the luck of evil Kenevil but because he played for Manyoo he must be a genius and can be trusted to guide our club".....predictable results followed.

When I've been critical of MM previously one of my biggest concerns was not being able to see the plan, we didn't look like we were building to something but over the last couple of games you could see where we were trying to go. We've got some distance to cover before we can do it for a full game but when we can we'll be able to put up a fight for anyone in the comp. That's not to say we'll race up the ladder but we'll be in with a shot every week and that's a step up from where we had been.
