ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Nero,

Id advise the club where you would LIKE to have your seat in bay 16, but bear in mind that every other person is probably doing the same ok.

If you are standing in someone's 'reserved' spot, you will obviously need to move, cause it's not your spot!
You can request where you would like to sit and the Mariners will allocate the seating, trying to please everyone ( as they do for gold and platinum) This year will be a bit difficult in as much as no one has allocated seats yet, but once you have your seat booked, next year you will have the option to renew before anyone else gets the chance to take your seat number.

Not sure about how bookings are going but I dare say the early birds will secure the back half of the bay ok. those who delay will miss out for sure!

50% increase in cost is a little steep to say the least.
as I said before, memberships haven't risen in 3 years. I don't think it's steep now, but rather too cheap before. Which is the correct way to go about it? who knows.

Let's look a this with some perspective for a minute...

When you consider that we have 1 PSC game against Sydney! Derby!

We are $15.83 per game and you get 12 games! The Bay Membership works out at $15.83 a game. A reserved seat AS WELL!

This is the first season Memberships have gone up since we formed! 4th season, 1st price increase. Wouldnt be too many sporting clubs Members out there, in our or any code, which could claim that?
Out of curiosity I checked out season ticket prices for my Scottish club DUFC in the SPL.
Not one of Europes top leagues so probably a good one for us to compare prices with.
The equivilant to bay 16........ie the stand behind the goal, lower tier costs 360.00 QUID that is $736.29.Yes they do play 36 league games but it still works out roughly $5.00 a game more than you guys are being asked to pay. They also have to top this up if they want to include cup games.
I think some people don,t realise how cheaply we get to watch professional sport in Australia.

I think you will find Jeff only counted the home games - DUFC had 19 home games (in the season) so going on those figures that works out to be $38.75 per game so more than double... unless you get entry to away games too in your membership there?
You,re right adz I f**ked up there.I did realise Jeff was only counting the home games I just didn,t think properly when working out the DUFC figures. :-[ Proves my point even more though don,t you think? ;)

Also remember when you add the ticketing charge to buying through ticketec.  I think it was $4.95 for every ticket purchased times this by 11 and immediately you have $55.45

$190 - $55.45 = $12.23/game cheaper than the pictures.

Realising CPI increase $12.23 to reserve your seat in Bay 16 as a Marinator is the equivalent to 2 & a bit beers.

100 minutes of entertainment.  A movie is $15 for an adult.

but for the life of me I cannot see why the structure would not include concession, family, etc. I wonder if that was the work of those geniuses at FFA Events?

What we will end up with is a reserved Marinators Bay 16 for adults (or those with the cash), and non-reserved (GA) part Marinators bays in say 15, and 17!

I know we are now in and season 4, but in WQC  and season 1 the bulk of the 'marinators' type support in Bay 16 were several U18 teams.

yeah, i think you might be on the money there. i simply can't see the benefit of the no concessions bit. less under 18s and students wanting to be in there is certain, but I don't think i'd call it a benefit.

it's not like all the other home ends are ditching concessions either (see where i looked at the SFC setup here) - they clearly haven't seen it as necessary.

our memberships are cheap compared to season tickets overseas, but they're in the same ballpark as other sports here, which is what they're actually competing with (someone living in narara can't choose to instead attend every dundee united game).

comparing for arguments' sake with the season tickets at the parramatta eels you're looking at $145 for a GA season ticket for an adult or $85 for a concession. that's roughly $12 or $7 a pop.

for the swans it's steeper, it's $255 for adults or $155 for concessions (roughly $23 and $15 per match). even still, once you're conparing with bay 16 membership, it's in the same neighbourhood.

take the concessions out for students and under 18s and they're nothing like as cheap (or competitive) as they were, and nobody should imagine that that's not a large portion of our core support that we're hitting up for $70 (student) more than they'd otherwise pay.

telling them that it's the price for reserving a spot into the future is almost arrogant - as if they should have to fork out more to prove they're a serious supporter when people buying adult tickets don't. what's to stop uncommitted blowin adults taking bay membership?

it's this way for this year and it isn't going to change, but the club should heed the feedback. we're not their PR department, we're their members. if we (or even a significant number of us) are not happy about something we should be letting them know rather than spinning for them.

spot on

ALL professional sport in Australia is cheap. It was one of the first things I noticed when I came here in 1990.The ordinary punter where I came from didn,t buy season tickets even if they did go every week. Here most ordinary punters can afford it.
DUFC home games in the UEFA Cup in 1987 cost 20 quid( $40.00 approx) to stand on the terracing.Ordinary league games around that time were about 10 quid I think.1987 FFS MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO!!
Think about it.WTF can you buy for $190.00 these days.......1 and a bit tanks of fuel??
That would probably get all you Sydney mariners to a couple of home games!!

I'll be purchasing a Bay Membership but need to wait till after the early bird period is over. Fingers crossed that "lil old me" * year right!* can get a STANDING position as close to you guys at the back as possible.

Trust there will be no emos in Bay 16 and the whole bay will be standing as one :pirashoot:

What happens if you don't get on with the people next to you? It's nice to think that all Marinators love each other, but that'd be a stretch!

Will you be able to swap?

I logged on this morning and my brother and I renewed our season tickets - we can't wait for the season to kick off and nor can my family who have been swept up by the Central Coast Mariners!

The renewal process was user friendly, I had no dramas at all. Great work to all involved.

Thanks in advance.

. most of this has already been covered but my views:

. the only real problem I have with the pricing is that to keep your existing seat (if you have one) is that you have less than two weeks to pay (by 18/6/08). yes i know we all knew it was coming but if people are being effected by price increases this is not enough time

. the $4 admin fee seems to relate only to the issuing of the packages, they have charged it in the past too and relates to each transaction not each membership - so a family of four only pays $4 not $16

. reserved seating in the bay i think is a couple of years late, but more on that later. i agree that there should be a premium over general admission (for adults) and feel that there may be quite a few existing white/blue members that may look at the arrangements and see that, for the same price, 'bay' seats are the only ones to give a reserved seat .... think supporters bay at away games. if there was a premium charged on adult 'bay' seats this could be applied to concessions as well and you have the best of both worlds

. i also suspect that where the 'bay' seating may pay further dividends in the future may be similar to the original gold memberships. our memberships are called 'original gold' which means we get to keep our seats in the platinum seating area for gold prices. so in years to come i would expect a premium on 'bay' seating but you 'foundation' bay members may retain a cheaper pricing structure .... just a possiblility

. as for the reserved seating the way it has worked in our area is that you are security checked on your way into the bay and yes you do get checked on return whenever you venture out for a drink/leak/whatever - and everybody seems to sit in their allocated seats (that is what you have reserved). although some concessions can be made locally, if possible, because everybody knows everybody (at least familiar faces)

. the reason i was saying it is a couple of years late is becasue you guys have formed 'new' friendships with others in the bay that you want to 'hang' with. we have also formed these relationships with our neighbours that we did not know pre-mariners - now you get to do it again

. if anybody wants to bring 'guests' they have to try and buy tickets from what is available publicly - if you 'have to' sit as a group you may have to move elsewhere in the stadium. this sort of thing becomes an issue over the years as the odd member drops out and leaves small pockets of seats and these seats are then offered up to the next in line rather than a 'mate'

. another consideration is that there has never been a platinum concession (afaik) and that platinum seating now covers six bays

. the payment plan is a brilliant idea and i hope it encourages an increase in memberships amongst those that struggle to save the couple of hundred dollars (or less) required

. one annoying thing is the stated '20% off voucher for match day merchandise' is clarified in the terms & conditions as a once off 20% discount. in other words you can't accumulate your kit over the season and get a discount - its a once in, all in type of offer

. another oversight i see is that i was not given the option of buying a discounted program pack, in reality i probably won't be bothered buying them now but would have jumped on the option if available in my membership package like last year

. bloody hell that was longer than i thought
