ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Has anyone received anything from the club since they signed up for this season? The family renewed our membership and are hanging to see the boys play.  But I don't know if I should be getting a bit worried that we haven't received anything other than email acknowledging we've signed up.

dw it always takes ages

No nothing yet. I'm probably not going to be the first though; I bought gold and didn't have seats last year so I've probably got to wait until all the previous gold members get their applications sorted.

It was a bit bizzare though. I bought a gold seat for my wife, kids and daughter's boyfriend, and last week my wife and daughter's boyfriend received a membership application form in the mail. There was no acknowledgement that they had already applied for gold membership, but there is nowhere else they could have got the name and address.

???

You usually get it the week before the first pre season home game and if you dont get it by then they send you out match tickets

Also for the atmosphere, as i said above, this isnt a good recognition by club as to what we contribute to the game in terms of atmosphere. why would they charge us more to provide them with the atmosphere.

Lol my friend, lol.  You're crazy if you think the club/FFA gives a flying stuff if there's atmosphere at games or not - as long as they have our $'s, we can sit there and clap politely as far as they're concerned.  Just look what they've done to Melbourne.......

This is a league where 'crepe paper' is a liability concern.  :redcard:

I had a thought (no jokes on that please)..... Maybe there weren't and concession memberships offered for children to discourage them from sitting in Bay 16, with all the rowdyness, swearing & all?

that's a reasonable explanation for no kids prices, but not for no student or other concessions.

What age limit do you put on a student ticket thou dibo? 18? I guess 12 year olds are students too? Where is the line drawn?

simple. a slightly (not overly) raised price on every ticket for the bay including both concession and full price. that way when familys or the person who do buy tickets (at that raised price) in the bay has shown that they understand where theyre buying tickets for.

Have you raised all your membership concerns with the mariners themselfs?

it's nothing to do with age at all - if you're a full time student you're eligible. if that means 12 year olds, then so be it. the test is on capacity to pay, not age.

would it be of any use?!

More use than 14 pages of crying on an internet forum id say

people have put down their opinions explaing why they think (or don't think) the no concessions stance is a bad idea. if that's just pointless crying about it, then we might as well shut the forum down.

i'd be very surprised if the club doesn't have someone checking these things over and seeing what the various reactions are - it's the cheapest market research they could do.

Its 14 pages of the same things being said over and over again. Forgive me, but I can not see the point of complaining about something if your not going to activly do something to solve the situation, or make it known TO THE PEOPLE THAT MATTER that your not happy.

fair cop, but i think the thread's gone on this long largely because neither side of the debate thinks the other side is seeing things from their POV.

Agree 100%. I totally see the point of view of the less fortunate than myself, but having said that, if it were me in the situation, id do something about it, THATS my problem, nobodys seems to be putting their hand up and voicing their opinion, other than on here, over and over again, which solves nothing.

(Rant over, for now)
