i watched from the 7th min to the 20th min.
Got to say I was impressed by our passing + movement. some good balls into to the box.

According to my mum and sister, the first 7 mins werent that great

Adelaide didnt seem to be in the game tbh.
Although I was shocked when my mum + sister told me score...

so far I have only seen the last 30 mins of the game but I thought the passing and movement off the ball was superb, I am actually following the w-league this year, been watchin the games on ABC all season and there are some really good teams in this comp (brisbane, us). I think it will be a brisbane v mariners final

Watched the whole game and very impressed; The work rate in brutally hot conditions was quite amazing. Jillian Loyden was all class despite having little to do, great command of the penalty area; back four were totally dominant, first to the ball, didn't allow Adelaide to play; midfield controlled the tempo, good passing and movement Lydia Vandenberg a quality player but Renee Rollason was the MVP for me, was involved in everything; Ashleigh Connor was a real handful for Adelaide, clever dribbling skills, unpredictable - a bit like Kwasaldinho; Teresa Polias very impressive when came on for Rollason and Jenna Kingsley impressed off the bench too, But the cult figure in this team is Michelle Heyman, the W League's Matty Simon. She was everywhere, very strong, good touch, scored three, missed a one-on-one and forced a good save from the keeper (who must have spent the night in an icebath afterwards she was so overworked). I don't know if Heyman has played for the Matildas yet but she soon will. It's the first time I have seen them play and I was entertained and impressed by the team work, the effort, the strength and the skills. They must have a real shout at being Premiers. The only downer is that so few are from the Coast and they train at Parklea  - will be delighted when the boutique stadium at the CoE gets up and running - to watch them and the Res/Youth will create even more community involvement. Go the Mariners (Women)  :eek:verhead:  :eek:verhead:

+1 roy and go connordinho. As to Heyman in an earlier interview I think she alluded to becoming a Matilda  as goal 1 (after winning the comp)

Doesn't mention us much - but I like the heading.
Mariners top W-League ladder

The W-League title race has been blown wide open after bottom-side Adelaide United stunned Brisbane Roar by holding the leaders to a 2-2 draw, allowing Central Coast Mariners to wrest control of top spot.

Undefeated since round two last season, reigning champions Brisbane were virtually unbackable favourites against a Reds side who have yet to win a match this campaign scoring just three goals in the process.

Adelaide raced to a two goal lead inside the opening 21 minutes at Ballymore in Brisbane with Racheal Quigley and Ruth Wallace on the scoresheet.

Brisbane pulled a goal back just prior to the interval through Tameka Butt, and scored an equaliser early in the half period from Elise Kellond-Knight.

Despite spending most of the second period camped in the Adelaide half, the Roar were forced to make do with a share of the points allowing the Mariners to take a one-point lead at the top of the standings.

The Mariners turned in a professional performance to get the better of a hard-working Melbourne Victory courtesy of a goal in either half from Michelle Heyman.

Striker Heyman continued a red-hot streak of form in front of goal with a tally of ten goals from just eight matches.

With two rounds remaining Sydney FC also remain in contention, sitting just two points off the pace following their 5-2 demolition of Perth Glory.

Teen prospect Samantha Kerr scored early on for the Glory with a wonder-goal from long-range, but the Blues proved to be in irresistible form with last year's top scorer Leena Khamis leading the way with a double.

Canberra United continued their hunt for a finals berth by moving alongside the Victory in fourth place with a 3-1 away win over Newcastle Jets in heatwave conditions.
