ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners vs Wellington at NSO - Game Talk

1. NSO - Is a good initiate. IMO Is the timing right just before Christmas? Will there be any officers workers around or all getting pissed & playing with the secretary?

2. Against say Heart or low crowd drawer - All Central Coast registered players in for free - Make it about them have the assoc. sell there clubs etc. signing young kids what ever to match the start of the kids season. Half time assoc. play against each other - A carnival of the local clubs basically - To re-establish the links - Why don't more registered players come to the game? I am sure there enough of them to fill the stadium (how many reg'd players on the coast? Hoe many drive them cheer them on?)

3. Shit seats at BT (not that there are any) but say bay 1 & opposite side - Free tickets to Kids with $5 paying adult - Say go to the local school give them the tickets - Gets new fans interested (after the team or a player attends the school)

4. Senior citz day - same bays - bring grandpa for free type thing

5. CHEERLEADERS! YEAH - No marching Bands

What a touchy bunch.

If they have a game at Canberra, I will go to Canberra support the team and have a good time.
If they have a game at NSO, I will go to NSO support the team and have a good time.
I will not withold purchasing membership for next year, nor will I hold my breath until my face turns blue.
Maybe we have too many supporters who have a behavioural age of 2 years old.

FFS get with the programme, support the team, support the club and support the owners.

No need to close this thread. There's more to it than 'what can we do for the mariners'. Let it be resolved under its own momentum (which I think is a Seinfeld quote).

Let's take a moment to separate 'what is' from 'what might be'.
  1. There's no serious talk of a move away from Gosford.
  2. There's no talk of home games being taken from Gosford (the 'home' game is a 'Community Round' game, like Newcastle's game in Campbelltown and Melbourne's game in Launceston last year)
Given these facts, I don't think anybody's too worried about the notion of a community round game heading to NSO.
Marketing to the north of Sydney is fine, that's aiming to get more people to go to Gosford. All good. However - were there to be serious talk of moving the club or taking home games elsewhere, I'd be more than pissed off.
I don't support the owners or any other individuals in all of this, I support the Central Coast Mariners because it's my hometown and it's my club. If the owners want to move the club sometime in the future, it's not my club anymore.

As long as it is only a 'match threat' not any thing more divisive.

Who are you again? What gives you the right to demand what gets posted in this thread? This has been one of the most dynamic threads in quite a while... don't try to sanitise it. If you don't want to hear the opinions of fellow Mariners supporters (many of whom have a hell of a lot more credibility on this forum than you and I), then perhaps this is not the place for you.

Not a demand, just a suggestion. A little 'touchy' aren't we?

My previous posts on this thread were a response to, what I saw as, an overreaction to playing a game at North Sydney Oval. I pointed out that the Northern Sydney region was an area where CCM might attract a following. For this I was 'shouted down'. I love to here the opinions of other Mariners supporters and I don't mind, in the least, if you want to continue antagonistic posts.....I'll give as good as I get. My feeling is, we are in this together (hopefully) so we may as well get positive.

I think we can all take a chill pill now :D

Hayson, this forum is generally pretty loose on rules - threads get way off track, but usually after the main points have been done and dusted so that's fine.
We don't usually close threads or crack down on 'off topic' chat, maybe just a gentle push every now and then to post in other threads.

The arguments about NSO are fiery enough, let's not turn on each other.

The thing about the written word is that the author's intent is not necessarily translated by the reader. Your response to midfielders question was "As long as it is only a 'match threat' not any thing more divisive". To me, that sounds like a demand and not a suggestion.

As for your assertion "I pointed out that the Northern Sydney region was an area where CCM might attract a following. For this I was 'shouted down'"... I beg to differ. You've done more than that mate.

You have the hide to challenge Bikini Girl (FYI, one of the major forces behind the fund raising drive to get the Yellow Army a new mega) on what she can do for the club. When asked the same thing, so far you have come up with buggar all. Between you and me, I think you owe BK an apology.

When asked about your opinion of our previous Canberra experiment... again, you have bugger all to say. The reason I asked for your opinion was so you could establish some credibility on this forum. A cogent argument pointing out the pros and/or cons of the previous Canberra trip would suggest to me that you do have an appreciation of what the club and it's fans have been through in the past. As far as I'm concerned, you have yet to make one single statement that suggests to me that you know the full implications of what your talking about.

The problem I have with your posts is that there is no substance to them. Positive thinking is great... but statements like "all this doom and gloom, negativity, conspiracy theorising, cynicism and a general 'let's do bugger all' attitude that seems to pervade this particular thread." is simultaneously a gross exaggeration an obvious misinterpretation of what some of the opinions are.

Your willingness to accept what Charlseworth has to say at face value is admirable, but I for one, have seen us swing and sway from one managerial disaster to another, and sail too close to financial ruin, to blindly accept anything MC has to say. Put it this way... name me one successful business man that doesn't have an exit strategy? I've never said MC is looking to relocate or sell the club, but by the same token, I'm not going to buy a 100 year membership package just because MC says he has no intention of selling or relocating... especially when it is reported on The World Game website for f**k sake.

Over to you, my friend. Keep in mind, don't ask anything of me that you haven't already asked of yourself.

Sorry Adz... I didn't see your post until after I had posted mine.

FWIW, I'm enjoying being challenged, so it's no skin off my nose, but for the greater good, feel free to remove both my and hay son's lasts posts if need be.
