ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I thought the COE, along with the increased TV deal, were meant to help secure our future?

Can't hurt to look around but with the understanding that the coast is our home.

Personally I doubt that we have exhausted our growth from the coast. Each year more and more friends have become involved, and started buying memberships and there are many more to convert yet. It's up to us to try to convince people to have a look. Almost all of the people that have been to a match with us go to almost every match now.

. sorry don't do twitter ... too many other addictions consuming my time

. regardless, this is the sort of shit which will actually keep people away. try to imagine you are currently considering jumping on the bandwagon ... you read this from a 'respectable media outlet' and a 'well connected football journalist' - what do you do? do you re-think? save yourself from emotional turmoil?

. or grab the whole family and jump in with both feet?

. if you haven't committed by now ... these type of things can hold you back ... again

Ah yes, BG.....but remember 'today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip wrapper'. :)

I think you are spot on. The GF win was just the tonic.

In the last 4 or 5 home games I have been able to get at least 6 extra people (more than 12 for last weeks game) and now when I send the text....u coming to mariners?........not a single knock back. The beauty is at least 3 are going to become members for the first time.

It's going to be an exciting new season.

. yes and 10,000 average crowd was meant to be our break-even

. in no way do i want to limit our crowd, but is that point now much higher ... personally i am curious

. ticket prices have been pretty steady (i think), salary cap is up, coaching costs are probably much higher and the acl could be ruinous financially ... but with the new tv deal - i would hope we are doing alright

Thankfully journalists with soap box agendas don't dictate the direction the club heads.
People need to get into there head this isn't a Northern Eagles situation, this is about expanding the market.
The Mariners are on the Central Coast and will always be on the Central Coast..end of discussion.

Not sure how many of the average punters would pay attention to the SMH, but it's up to the club to put them in no doubt where the club is headed.

. may be more than you expect ... i think we still have a paper reading demographic on the coast

. for example - i have heard 'i was talking to the postie about a mariners article in the paper the other day' type comments quite often but have never heard 'i read a post on the forum the other day which was a nice balance of perspectives'

. agree the club needs to be more proactive driving detrimental, speculative commentary out of the media

If that is a bit dark for some people then a photo of the ghostly outline of a lights out iguanas nightclub overlooking arguably one of the prettiest waterways would suffice.
Maybe Lawrie in his second term will turn on the night lights of Gosford.

Many northern beaches folk don't go to SFS because its a shite commute to watch a shite team. ;)

Pity there wasn't a big boat running from Palm beach to Gosford on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Serving drinks and food?
Heh! King Lawrie !

Just dreamin!

MWFA is a huge association.
