ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Many northern beaches folk don't go to SFS because its a shite commute to watch a shite team. ;)

Pity there wasn't a big boat running from Palm beach to Gosford on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Serving drinks and food?
Heh! King Lawrie !

Just dreamin!

MWFA is a huge association.

That's what we need, some positive thinking, no matter how impossible it might sound.

Better than all this doom and gloom, negativity, conspiracy theorising, cynicism and a general 'let's do bugger all' attitude that seems to pervade this particular thread.

There, I feel better now!

. can you please point out this 'do bugger all' attitude?

. i am not going to re-read it, but i don't remember people suggesting that at all. there is genuine concern however about how certain things may or may not be communicated ... because we have been there before and there has been some almighty f**k-ups which are still hurting the club years later

. now i'm fired up ... but i don't feel any better

Name me one positive suggestion you have come up with? All I can see is 'we are only a small 'town' so we think that way' and 'is Charlesworth planning to sell us to the highest bidder'. Read his comments on the World Game website and give him all the backing he needs to believe it is worth his while (and his millions) to keep a team on the Central Coast. I believe in the 'power of positive thinking' so let's have some positivity out there!!

Jesus mate, go back and read this thread from the start before making such bullshit statements.

Why should we be concerned about this.....Mike Charlesworth is looking to increase the Mariners' fan base but not from as far away as Canberra.
And please, not more conspiracy theories.:naughty:
Please give us your perspective of the previous Canberra experiment. A success? A good thing for the club? Whilst I didn't say we should be concerned about this, nor infer it is a conspiracy theory, any suggestion that we go back to Canberra will open a few old wounds... that's for sure.

I don't need to re-read the thread, what I have said is based on comments that have been made.
Care to make a positive suggestion on how to get more 'bums on seats' at Bluetongue Stadium (or isn't it called that anymore)?

Why are you looking back instead forward?

It's not like we have no people here with any nous.

It's not like we have no people here with any imagination.

It's not like we have no people here with any history supporting and feel for the club.

Hell, it's not even like we have no people here who've seen football on all sorts of scales and stages and seen a bit of the world.

So to come on here and deride everyone as having conspiracy theories borne solely of small town thinking is pretty cheap, particularly when you haven't shown any ideas of your own.

As to that story, it sounds like the journo's bored and Reid is lobbying rather than discussing - there's no quote from the Mariners and "she planned to speak to them and the Newcastle Jets in the coming weeks."

Move along, nothing to see here.

Name me one positive suggestion you have come up with?

. now you are trying to spin things a different way ... and i am struggling to find a polite way to respond

. i am positive the club needs to learn from its mistakes ... not make them again because of some random thought processes

. i'll try this clarity thing again - the 'community round' will be a success regardless of where it is held when it is promoted correctly

. i realise it doesn't matter how i say (type) things it is open to interpretation, but i don't see why you are not prepared to apply the same scrutiny to statements made in or by the 'media'

. oh and i reckon 'the power positive thinking' may just be a 'big city' way of not actually doing anything. 'think it and they will come' is not a valid marketing strategy

. if challenging people to really think is 'small town thinking' ... then that is another positive you can add to your list

perhaps this one can be put to Patrick now...as the new Community King....I think this is a really positive idea (in response to all the negativity elsewhere :goodpost:)
