Nobody was supposed to be marking back post, because if you all have not noticed, Danny never has a player on back post at corners.

From 1 keeper to another, what the f**k is that all about Danny?
wat was the defender doing 1m away from backpost then?
Unless he was scared of Danny- no point of him being that close (but not close enough)
if it is Dany's fault then I may have to edit my comment about him- didnt he learn anything from Bozza?

oh btw
Great slagging by Bozza on the bench- respect went up a notch for him too- doesnt take crap from no1

And wat on earth was Ben Williams doin off the field for a freekick? trying to get in the shade?

Hutch was on the back corner where Danny put him (thanks Bozza) but left.

He isnt playing his best- let him earn his spot back but he doesnt deserve charity- this is professional football!

Linesmen have to wait for the player to become involved in the play I think Kareem before they flag it.

Why is everyone bagging out the Ref. He was ok! He did nothing wrong! It was a poor performance by the team not by the ref.
r u joking?
please tell me u r joking?
Ben Williams lacks consistency in fouls. He probably wouldnt make a Shield mistake- but he just has so many problems calling fouls and dishing out cards (well not to our players :p)

And add to that the linesman with throwins- wat the?
I was quite pleased with his offside calls (for both teams) but he just was lousy with calling it on the line- it is the whole ball!

Simon running after ball = involved IMO. I know he wasnt at first but he then made intent and it wasnt til a lil while after that she flagged him

but anyway
didnt change the game
didnt really matter just a waste of time and Simon's energy
it was offside by a mile so I got no complaints- just sayin it was funny

We where lucky to win, I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Oh well
a fair resuklt would have been for the game to be cancelled and neither teams get ANY points
absolute rubbish
Danny- did well, gave every1 in bay 7 a few laughs at end when he ran up. Good return IMO
Boogs- Unlucky- hope he is fit for Newcastle game
Clark- did well- he is dependable
Wilko- slowly improving. But we majorly lacked LEADERSHIP
Bojic- not as good as in recent weeks but still not bad. Although his not so good left foot is starting to show (cant wait til Heff is back)
Jedi- A bit flat for his standards but still a decent game. Good on him with yellow card- ref didnt call foul on him and he hacked the guy good (got wat he deserved). Respect has gone up even more for Mile
Hutch- good 1st 10 mins then flat! He needs to go bench (when players return)
Caceres- I thought he did good and Bay7 were not happy (neither was I) when he was taken off
Osman- possibly the worst player at the mariners atm (just ahead of hutch)- good squad player but he really was a waste of space
Sash- didnt do much. I think today was a great xample of ageing. Note: He is and will still be capable of great games (eg. Sydney) but ageing= inconsistency. Bad decision making as well
Simon- did his best- every1 kept giving him balls expecting him to do wonders- he cant do everything for us. Good Yellow Card- ref was a tosser

Ogrady- did good IMO
Macca- didnt talk enough (2 head clashes with fellow players)
Porter- 2x as good as Ossie- get Ossie out!

Ref sucked- IMO worst ever reffed HAL game that I have seen. Shocking inconsitencies
linesman on western sideline- good with offsides...but absolute crap with throwins- ITS THE WHOLE FREAKIN BALL!
Girl- lol at Simon offside- wat on earth was she waiting for

Kwassie- absolute tosser for kicking ball away! (why no yellow card?)

Who was meant to be marking back post???

For Friday assuming Clark + Boogs out

                      Vukovic
Porter        Wilko       Bojic        DaPuzzo
                       Jedi
      Owens        Caceres          Hutch
                 Simon          Macca

Special mention: Macca after the match
ABSOLUTE LEGEND
stayed around for like 30-40 autographs and talkin to fans!
Good guy- he was very dissappointed- u could tell it from his voice and face. He also was sayin how important friday was gonna be against Newcastle (sif he doesnt call em scum :p)
Any idiot out there havin a whinge bout him kissing club badge should shut up- coz even at early days he really seems to care about this club.
Shame he wasnt that flash on the field today...
IMO he aint much use as a sub- (Sasho is!)
Posibly the worst game i have ever seen them play. Wasn't the best of conditions hot and the pitch was FARKED dirt patches every were especially water end  but Kareem good work on the post that would have taken a long time
But thats as far as i can say good work Mile was out standing stole the ball  5 time he is the best player on the pitch Adrian didnt look like he wanted to play he was walking all the time i think this is due to the wheather still a great player osman WWASSSSSSSS SHIT i agree. I am a ref and he missed alot of things.
WITH WILKO HE was a captian that led as a captian this is what really annoyes me when people dont see what he really does he was trying to fire up the boys during the drinks break so for your remarks
ADa a last shout out to Danny good work lad.

dont expect any1 to agree with me 100%
and only 2 disagreements btwn us? (Caceres + Wilko)
Maybe I expect too much from Wilko.
Maybe I am expecting him to be like Gerrard?

oh btw
Simon apparently got card for diving?
I thought it was dissent...i cannot see how that could have been called a dive!
my apologies- it honestly seemed logical he got card for diving!

It was a clear dive. Looked a bit iffy in real-time, but the replay showed it was a 100% dive. Very good piece of officiating.

Anything that "looked a bit iffy in real-time" isn't a "clear dive"! Clear dives are just that... clear!

A "very good piece of officiating" can also be considered a very lucky piece of officiating if what you say is true.

So you were sitting RIGHT in line with the sideline were you kareem?

As for waiting so long for Simon to get it - strictly speaking, under the current interpretations the AR is supposed to wait until the attacker touches it.

They've gotten pretty lax on it, but I guess she stays a bit closer to that interpretation than others.

As for the dive...if it was a card for the dive, play should've been stopped and a free kick awarded.  No reason to let play continue IMO unless the other team has an advantage.

I really, really, REALLY hate it when our players dive.  Makes me feel dirty, like I need to take a shower or something.  It's a disgusting behaviour - I have no patience for cheats, and it's disturbing how much of an increase in diving we're seeing this season.

no and its not like it helps- the one guy in line with the sideline couldnt get it right!
He sucked at those calls. We are talkin bout 10 times approx. I agree with 2 times maybe
he is gettin confused with footy- in football the whole ball must go over the line (not even leaning on the line)

A sober reflection on the game rather than a drink filled rant straight afterwards (like I usually do LOL)

Overall, we were truly awful. We just seemed v flat and what really struck me was how awful our first touch was (pitch perhaps, it looked shit). The tactic seemed to be a free role for Caceres rather than a rigid 442 with Hutcho required to cover the hole he left. Hutcho failed miserably and you would have to imagine that his place as an automatic choice is under serious threat??

There also seemed to be an absence of leadership out there. I kept waiting for us to lift but it never came did it?? Even their goal didnt wake us up.

Jedi's yellow was obviously frustration but was dumb and could cost us later in the season. In his role, he will pick up plenty of cards so there is no point in giving any freebies.

What worries me is that we were totally crap for 90 mins yesterday, crap for 65 mins against Adelaide and we play an improving scum next week who always lift against us.

2 DM's (Jedi and the Italian dude) with Caceres at LM and drifiting in might allow us to dump Hutcho to the bench

Is he the new Kwas??

The less said about that pathetic performance the better.

Danny Vukovic was great in his return, it could of been more lop-sided if not for his play on a few occasions. Bojic can hold his head high too it has to be said, he busted his balls out there.

Great point re: "absence of leadership" ... I thought that myself. Again, apart from Danny in goal, no one stood tall and rallied the boys who were obviously flat perhaps with the exception of Bojic. Really disappointing.

Newcastle will take the points if we serve up more BS like that on Friday.

We have the short turnaround, FIRE 'EM UP LAWRIE!

I bet Hutch and Osman are starting on Friday. Lawrie is really starting to look a little bemused or unsure of his next move from a strategical point of view. Serious has said it and I can't help but agree... f**k THE LONG BALL OFF. Matty Simon took so many on the head he should have had a concusion after yeaterday's shithouse display. How does this help our strikers Lawrie?

I'm also happy to notice that FINALLY people are starting to notice what a total liability Matthew Osman is at RM. But LM loves him, he loves hutch as well and if these two are starting on Friday and we get pumped I will call for a new coach. It is showing no leadership from a club point of view and rewarding sub par performances. This is unforgivable, I pay my $$$ every home game and as fans we need to know that players performances are accountable. I'd like to see this next week (but zero chance):

            Danny
Bojic  Boogs  Wilko  Madera
              Jedi
Porter                    Dapuzzo
            Caceras
    Simon          Sash

I think Dapuzzo has the speed to play LM and we may actually get to see a mariner run down that flank. Same goes for Porter. Both he (when he came on) and Bojic ran down the flanks more often then our supposed wingers yesterday and its diabilical that our current wingers will not take on the defence.

I dont understand the complete imbiciles who have supported LM decision to hook Caceras. He had 2 poor first touches but still looked the most likely to score. I actually left feeling sorry for the bloke yesterday playing in a mid field where has only Osman and hutch to work with. He is in another class compared to these muppets and hooking a player like this will lead to resentment from his side and he may lose his confidence to try certain things. Serious said it best and SET THE MAN FREE.

This is as bad as it gets Mariners Fans and it is fine to vent (as I'm currently doing) and maintain high expectations of a club that should have pumped those sheep shaggers by 3 or 4. Expect more from our playing group and do not use a hot day as a scape goat to a shit performance. Wellington played in the sun as well for christs sake.

In Lawrie I do not Trust (prove me wrong and bench Os and Hutch)

I'd like to quickly forget that excuse for a "football game"...... alas, more things than I'd care to like are stuck in my head as a result of it.

*  If you're going to spend the first ten minutes of the game playing short, sharp passes on the ground with men running off the ball and your defence looking solid, only to abandon it for "diagonal long passes" to no-one - please don't.  M'kay??

*  Long balls do not work 90% of the time.  No matter what Scottish Coaching 101 might tell you, They. Just. Do. Not.  And if you insist on persisting with this garbage, then at least have 3 up front (MacAllister, Sasho, Simon), so you've got a few options for this so called "tactic".

*  Wilkinson is a diabolically out of form shadow of the player he was before his knee injury.  It has affected his confidence to the point where a drop to the bench is the only thing that might shock him out of his slump.  And quite frankly, if your captain, the man you look to, lionheart blah blah blah lacks confidence, then the rest of the team might just be thinking twice as well.

*  Hutchinson, get your act together.  Porter.  Just.......... no.  Bogic, Osman (still a bit shaky), and a few others are still a bit on the 'meh' side.

*  Yes, he's my favourite player in our team, but given the right position (a roaming Wayne Rooney No. 10/9-ish role) and the freedom to _stick with it_, try things, and a CM teammate in support who isn't a giant pile of rubbish (Hutchinson), Adrian Caceres has the potential to tear this league apart, Fred style.  He has the skills, he has the touch, he has the vision, and you can see in the way he interacts with the fans that he has the hunger.  SET THE MAN LOOSE!!!!

*  Lawrie, _please_ listen to Alex Tobin more.  The man isn't a god of Australian Football for no reason.

*  Where did this holier than thou mentality of "don't pick on the team" come from??  What are we supposed to do, sit there and accept this garbage week in, week out, and politely hand over our $'s for the privilege??  I can think of many a league around the world where this kind of "football" would have resulted in the manager being sacked already.

I fear we are in for a severe bollocking on Friday night......

P.S.  Figured I'd make this post one of 'constructive criticism', so the "don't pick on the team" brigade actually had to answer my questions/thoughts with properly worded and thought out posts, not just the "omg, you're not fit to be a fan, follow the team unquestioningly" rubbish that has been pervading this place lately.

P.P.S.  Greenpole - you're welcome.  Although you were a bit easy to drag away. Fire up more next time yeah??    :p
