Poor game.

Caceras - Good game, has huge skill level that surpasses most in the squad but is still not being totally utilised. Why the hell was he subbed?

Jedi - Fantastic long range effort from that free kick, how good can he get at those? Good game but is using far too much long ball.

Matty - overused, there is only so many long balls that he can successfully get his melon on. Need to vary the way we give him the ball.

Hutch - Who?

Sasho - Not too sure on this one. Trying hard but would Macallister/Mrdja be more effective atm?

With Clarkie and Boogs (any news on him?) possibly out next week it looks as though Merenda may get his first run. I saw him today, not a big guy but looks agile. We are playing farrrr too much long ball for my liking. This season when we play a short passing game to feet we dominate, yet we still revert back to long ball especially when behind.

Absolute shite!!!!!!!!!!!! We were dreadful and so were Wellington.  I can't remember a worse game.

Our defence is appalling.  Clarky was terrible and made a pathetic attempt on their goal. Bojic & Wilko were passable. O'Grady is too lumbering but looked no worse than anyone else. Danny made a great save to keep us in the match when the defence were carved open.

Our passing was rubbish...just dumb long ball shit.  At times we looked like a pub side. Jedi was quite good but didn't dominate. Hutcho appears to be a scapegoat for a few people here. He did OK but should have been subbed instead of Caceras.  Osman is just lightweight.

Sasho and Simon were unimpressive.

Dreadful dreadful performance but let hope its a wake up call and Gumps is fit VERY soon.  I'd probably start McAllistar next week.

Lawrie seriously dropped the f**king ball today!!! When you have f**king liabilities like Hutch and Osman on the field why take out our most creative player??? Will someone tell me? Caceras tore he Nix to pieces in the first half and was looking so dangerous. I think that it safe to say that LM definately has his favourites and today was a f**king embarassing decision and I hope he realises what a cock up he has made.

Sadly, I agree. Osman was f**king dire as was Hutcho. Unless Caceres was injured, McKinna should be shot.

Lol at the people who were fighting in bay 16 because fans were saying how shite we were.

Paying fans deserve to have a say farken'. It doesnt mean there not going to support the team anymore. Sometimes teams deserve to be praised, and sometimes they deserve to be told that they played Shit... Today was a day they played like shit, and we let them know.

Are you serious? f**king hell, what's wrong with letting the team know we think they played shit? Did someone really start shit about it?? Is there a no-negativitiy rule in the bay?

someone was bagging Hutcho I think (could of been aussiecross)?? and anyway, some woman behind him started saying "oh fark off", or something.

At the end of the game, one of my friends, who was understandably angry shouted "Your shit mariners" (total blaspemy) and people were like, what man, like you'd say that..

. well it was a crap game, both teams were crap - we just happened to lose. i have been told 'they are professional footballers' enough today, but the weather was a nightmare

. 3pm kick-off was a bloody brilliant idea - must have looked great on tv with practicall all 9011 people crammed into the west side

. the goal - there was someone on the far post (when the corner was taken) but he stepped in at the wrong time and the ball went right where he was (from memory) ... i was actually looking for someone on the post, because it has caught us before and bozza was quoted recently expressing his preference for both posts to be covered for corners

. i thought boogs was pretty ordinary for the time he was on ... what was the problem?

. admit that hutch and ozzie didn't contribute a great deal today

. but sometimes jedi really shits me ... yes, yes i know everybody loves him and i think he is fantasic for us ... but he is the worst offender in terms of the long ball. now i know he wasn't getting much (any?) support from the rest of the midfield but too often he came deep (into the defensive line) to take the ball when he would turn around and launch the ball ... makes things pretty bloody hard for matty

. was a fantastic kick though that hit the bar - deserved to hit the 'keeper in the back of the head as the ball made its way into the net

Concussion - early clash with Coveny - blurred vision and headache. Lawrie said he was taken to hospital as a precaution as he had a bad case last season.

Boogs apparently had blurry vision before the game. Why did he start? Clarkie had his shoulder put back on the 11th attempt but hopes to be back for Friday.

Thought we looked good and it was a matter of how many before the drinks break. After that we were dire!! I like Caceres but he was having a shocker - though not alone.

Hopefully just a bad day at the office.

Does anyone no where JC was?

I don't think he was actually covering the post - I think he was marking somebody who was on the post, then moved away.  I wonder if that was a deliberate ploy to draw him off the post?

I don't understand why you wouldn't have at least a player glued to the back post.  So many goals go in there that would be so easy to stop...

Agree with the LM comments ....tho Hutch went missing today, Osman how he is in the side before Porter for me is hard to work out. O'Grady thank heavens this is his last year on contract.

But all three on the park at the same time we had no sparkle, I can only recall one shot at goal all day ..... plus Jedi's free that hit the post.

Also when are we going to put someone on the far post in corners ........each year we conceed goals this way, .........if someone had been on the far post no goal. Its such a soft way to conceed Fark Me we lost Fark

We were all wondering if there had been a worse CCM performance. I cant think of one at home TBH.
? the NZ Knights 2-0 CCM V1 Rd 3

We were very ordinary, although we weren't great when we whipped Perth 4-1 either. If a couple that slipped a very close wide or Jedi's woodwork had stuck, different story.

The week off seems to do us no good. Like the Grand Final.

One positive is the amount of yellow in the stands (well, the Western stand ;)) seemed the best yet. Maybe with the hot day less people covered it with jackets, etc.
Phoenix game is possibly one more likely to attract the more die-hard fans (so 9011 of them is good), who all have merch.

Looked like a yellow tide flowing out of Bluetongue and up the road after the game.

Anyone thinking that LM should be shot for replacing Caceres should think again IMO. Fair dinkum, his first touch today was as slippery as a teflon frying pan... it was bloody aweful. Almost as bad as McDonald last Wednesday night. I wasn't surprised in the least to see him go off when he did.
