Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

No. Not completely. Yes, poor form not acting sooner, but you expect some level of loyalty from your own players. Tommy H springs to mind, you know, a consummate professional footballer. Was basically being frozen out, stuck solid for the club and fans and the area and it’s know knowledge that he wants 2 more years here.

If Millar and his agent had any sense of decency they, as is the norm, notify us that an approach was made and if we had an offer for them.
Clearly didn’t happen.
He went behind the clubs back and signed for the scum.
He’s currently on what? Base aleague wage? Apparently we wanted to double it, I doubt the jets would offer more than that.
He’s a piece of shit. After what we’ve had to suffer through, Millar along with Pain have been a sense of hope for our fan base. And he does this.
I really want to know which players expressed disappointment today. They need a f**king clip over the ear.

TBF you are going to stick up for your mates no matter what.

Wow this has blown up in the last hour. I consider myself pretty level headed and objective with this sort of stuff, for example jets or anyone else doesn’t really matter to me.

IMO there’s two big failures here:
The club - not signing for more than 1 year or at least having options or first right of refusal and then not getting on to an extension soon enough.

Millar - not letting the club know about offers and giving them a seat at the table. That’s more problematic than actually leaving - he seemingly didn’t really give us a chance to retain him after giving him his shot. Now if he did give us a chance we’re just being petty by throwing a tantrum and sending him home. Hopefully the reaction has been fully explained to the players because that could cause some damage in the dressing room.

Apparently Lokolingoy has signed for us. Taking it with a grain of salt coz it's just one tweet saying it.

Edit - Definitely not true never mind

Back to other matters, Millar is a snake

The club was aware of the other offers

The club knew all about it so this is an absolute failure of management - for which no one will be held accountable.

Depends doesn't it? If it's true that he was given an offer and indicated that he wanted to stay, then signed elsewhere, there's not a lot the club could do.

From what I understand, ccm were confident that the offer made was bigger than all other offers from other clubs that were on the table.

If the club doesn’t play him because of him being a snake can the club get in crap from PFA for that?

I’m on the ‘don’t let him play’ group btw! Someone should be held responsible for this.

When can that snake announce his signing?

But were they aware he was signing something so soon?
“Hey coach I got an offer from the jets, just giving you a heads up” is very different to
“I’ve got an offer with a clock on it and my agent thinks it’s a good one, if you’re wanting me to stick around next year I can’t afford to ignore this offer so can we sit down to discuss it”

It all depends how the various parties have conducted themselves. Maybe we’ll find out one day.

I guess the biggest question is then: was the offer made before jets had signed him up already or after??

Probably. And that’s why the PFA is a joke a lot of the time. Particularly in the aleague. They have way too much power.
IMO they should only be helping players who aren’t getting payed what they’re owed, dodgy contracts etc.

They shouldn’t be able to protect a f**king snake from having its head cut off.

Over on 442 there is a chat about us being in shit. I dont care. We should not develop him any further. Let him rot either on the bench or not being selected at all.

Just put him on the bench for the remainder of the season & dont play him... that way we can also spray him from near the sidelines! Plus traditionally Mm doesn't use the bench for impact anyway!

How does the pfa find out about things like this? Sending home from training seems like such a small thing to get the union involved in. Lol did Millar call them on his way home from training like a weak c**t

I seem to have a memory, that when rumours started ages ago he told someone he was not going anywhere, wish I could remember where.

The Club has no obligation to play him or put him on the bench for the rest of the season.

I suspect he is probably about to come down with a calf strain.

What the Club did or didn't do, or what the Club offered or did not offer, or what the Club attempted to do to retain Millar and/or other players will never be known and anyone who expects any club to make these sort of negotiations known must believe in Santa Claus.

All the speculation of who is to blame the player or the Club is just pure guess work.

As to tying him up for more than one year maybe the Club tried but he had faith in his own ability and would not tie himself down for longer than a season.

The Club cannot force players to sign for any longer than they wish.

The Club can say take it or leave it, but the position we are in the Club probably has to take what it can get, or sign some of the NPL players who tried out but were not up to it.

Answer, sign Tommy for 2 years and hopefully other players will see we are serious and start to build a decent Club players want to join, rather than get tied to.
