But Millar's shown a complete lack of class, not just by signing for the Scum but for not even giving us the option to match or better the offer. He's free to look after himself, but if he had the most basic sense of decency he should have given us the chance to make a counter offer before agreeing anything. McKinna comes out of it looking a smug twat too.

I always assumed our rules would be the same as in Europe - players are free to negotiate with other clubs from outside their own country when they've got six months left of their contract, but that Bossi article suggested anyone could talk to him from 1 December. Which would mean Lawrie and Millar are twats, but legally in the clear.

That negotiations didn't open til last week is very poor, but it doesn't excuse the snake signing with Newcastle and not telling the club.
