ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

No idea what our situation was regarding talks with him about a renewal. Some transparency would be nice in this situation.

We offered. Apparently Millar told them he wanted to stay with us but "probably" went straight back to McKinna and got the snidey bastard to increase his offer.

That's pretty poor to not even talk to him until this week when he'd been a good performer. He's lost all that now. Silly me for thinking in this one instance, there was still loyalty in football

@Shaun Mielekamp would love to hear an explanation on how the hell this happened.
When it was posted on here on the 28th that he had already been approached by the Jets, how does the club not try to step in?
And where is the accountability for these constant contracting f**kups???

The smh article says we opened negotiations last week only to be told he'd already signed at scumville.

That negotiations didn't open til last week is very poor, but it doesn't excuse the snake signing with Newcastle and not telling the club.

He can sit out the season for all I care now.
Exactly, given it was published on here that the Scum approached him on the 28th, if not earlier. And if it's on here, the club would know about it.

It’s not on the club. I agree that we should’ve tied him down ASAP- but if a player who we gave a chance to (when nobody else did) is approached by their rivals, it’s the players responsibility to bring that up with management and find a solution before going behind the back of the club & the fans. f**k Millar. Withdraw the piece of shit from this weekends squad. Throw MacDonald in, bring Kek’s back to the bench.

Side note, Can you blame lawrie in reality?(unless it was an illegal approach, but even then) If you were a club legend, offered your services when the club was deep in the shit. And told no thanks. You’d probably take every chance to stick it up them when you can.

This is all on Millar.

Way to literally go from hero to sub zero, mate. f**kin loser.

100% withdraw the c**t from the squad.

You are right - but that doesn't mean it's not on the club either. They should not have given another club the chance.
Especially when they knew he had already been approached. The club were asking for Jets to finalise his signing.

But he's a right piece of shit for not saying 'hey, Jets have approached me, but I know I have you to thank for my HAL appearances. You going to offer me anything?

That's a stretch, assuming the club is across everything posted in here.
I don't think so. We now that Shaun monitors the forum a lot more than he lets one. That being a given, I imagine others in the office would as well.
Additionally, I thought somebody had commented that the club had been made aware. I don't believe for a second that the club didn't know about it.

It was OzHammer that made the club aware of the tap up. So we have him to thank for us nearly keeping Millar. Its only the fact that Millar is a disloyal CNUT that he wont be here next season.

What is on the club is not having triggers at the clubs discretion for a second year for those players taken on spec like Millar, Murray and McDonald.

Likely yes in this instance, but as a rule I wouldn't say the club knows everything said on here.

No. Not completely. Yes, poor form not acting sooner, but you expect some level of loyalty from your own players. Tommy H springs to mind, you know, a consummate professional footballer. Was basically being frozen out, stuck solid for the club and fans and the area and it’s know knowledge that he wants 2 more years here.

If Millar and his agent had any sense of decency they, as is the norm, notify us that an approach was made and if we had an offer for them.
Clearly didn’t happen.
He went behind the clubs back and signed for the scum.
He’s currently on what? Base aleague wage? Apparently we wanted to double it, I doubt the jets would offer more than that.
He’s a piece of shit. After what we’ve had to suffer through, Millar along with Pain have been a sense of hope for our fan base. And he does this.
I really want to know which players expressed disappointment today. They need a f**king clip over the ear.

Agreed. Lawrie is still schooling Shaun on how to "get it done".... which is frustrating because Lawrie is dead to most of us!

Sureley
A) Shaun & the club already knew deep down that Millar was going as it was mentioned on this forum that Lawrie was chatting to Millar (not exactly in a private location) & also Mcbreen was telling people werks ago he'd signed elsewhere and we are just pretending we are shocked
Or
B) we are truly that imcompetent that we didnt see this coming or plan for recruitment?

But dont worry guys we have signed a couple of 18 year olds which we wont announce but again the fans already know about...

This club is being run by peanuts I'm sorry!
