ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

No unnecessary disrespect intended but are we really looking to get excited about signing two foreign teenagers (most likely on loan) to replace what we have lost and strengthen the side?

If this is the extent of the club’s transfer dealings, then I for one am personally very disappointed. All this short-termism has me greatly unsettled to be honest and I am deeply concerned that there may be more of an undercurrent at play. I have no inside info but my gut is telling me something smells funny.

The fact that the club still hasn’t officially announced anything just adds to my unease about the situation.

Unfortunately I think that's where we are currently.

Given that Golec and Cisse were not playing it can't be a backward step.

It may be a product of missing out on initial targets and deciding not to make any major decisions in a tight time frame. I wouldn't want to see us make a bad deal thats going to haunt us next season just for the sake of doing something.

If these two young players and Jem are good enough to get us off the bottom then I will accept that for now. Aspro's return and a new CB means O'Neill can return to the middle, giving us 3 solid midfielders + Melling.

You'd think they would be working on more long term plans in the background.

Lets see how good or bad they are first.

Might show us how bad are juniors and seniors actually are

Gem I think looks to be a high quality signing.

Nisbet deserves his contract. But why not a two year deal?

These two new young players sound promising. But even talented youth are still prone to bad decision making/mistakes.

For mine though, neither Cisse nor Golec were capable of helping us move forward this season. Hopefully the two young guns prove wise beyond their years and can bring some extra depth and quality - which we’ve badly needed.

It could be a sign of where we’re at. It could be because we lost out on other players earlier this month.
But they’re basically PL U23 players. Like Aiden. So we’re getting 2 very sharp very fit very fast, highly technical hungry footballers.
I’ll take an entire squad of them over a lot of Australian aleague level players. But it obviously comes down to how determined they actually are. But we should expect the same mental level as Aiden.
I stand firmly by my statement that had we been winning games and be much higher in the table Aiden would’ve been a squadie for the Socceroos this month.
Sheff Utd most recent academy success story is David Brooks who’s now at Bournemouth and playing consistently brilliant. That’s purely down to hunger because a lot of these players are incredibly close in ability. The rest is mental ability.

And just on our squads average age of roughly 23. I rate that. Ajax of the early 2000s anyone?
