He was training last week Mick with no sign of an injury and was in pretty good touch when i saw him. My heart says bad decision but my head says good decision.
I really hope he kicks on. If its any solace to him.....its girlfriend is hotter than all of ours!
I agree. Spoke to him on a few occasions. An absolute top human. Very humble.
Just be careful around here Wombat as if you mention his girlfriend or post a picture you could be verbally lambasted.

Yes...i did hear someone cop a roast last week.

One of my female staff was talking about how sexy she was. I was just dirty on Aoy that she didn't tag me in to help out ;).....wrestling style.

All jokes aside a quality bloke and its no surprise he has such a lovely, and also charming girlfriend.

Golec is a real nice bloke and it sucks to see him leave. It's a shame that injury last season has meant he's not been the same. A broken leg is tough to come back from and l expect him to be out of football for a bit to have that leg fixed.

The leg is fixed Josho.

We will have to agree to disagree Mick.

You dont start a bloke for 8 games and then say maybe your leg is not right to be playing Football...........but maybe it was caning after each game??

He came over to 16 after a game earlier in the season and said his leg is still in a lot of pain and it hurts playing on it. It's not fixed at all. He must have a pretty high pain threshold.

I want to hear another signing and it has to be a CB before the window closes.

Before the Adelaide game did anyone else hear Mulvey’s interview when they discussed Kennedy. Mulvey gave him a lot of praise about being a true professional and good team member. I guess he can’t slate him on TV but made me feel a bit crook and definitely don’t think we will get a new keeper until maybe next season.

One fond memory I have of Lord Golec...

One afternoon after Uni, I arrived at the CoE to give the staff, particularly Dan, a hand with the membership drive. As I walked in, I saw Golec leaning against the reception counter, getting photocopies of some documents. I said g'day to him and he replied with something along the lines of "what are you doing, rocking up here so late? A cardboard cutout would do a better job". As an accountant by trade, a cannot fault his accuracy :vhappy:

Top bloke. Suited the 'coastie' ethos of the club down to the ground. I wish him all the very best.

Then he is a tough bugger. Hole walks like he has a limp but Anthony walks freely. That makes me even sadder but it makes the clubs decision even smarter. Maybe they are feeling the heat due to Gameiro??

Spot on with him fitting the “coastie” ethos & gave a lot to the team. Didn’t just turn up to training & games like most players do. Always engaged fans & don’t forget he was the only player last season to turn up to the “Open Mike night” (MM’s big reveal).

He's a natural leader, the young players all look up to him, the number of them who posted glowing tributes on his insta post is a credit to him.

Player recruitment and retention is a critical aspect of all the great coaches / managers ...

Culina was an excellent coach of a top side but arguably the worst coach at picking good new players and holding on to those you want.

Jurgen Klopp is an example of developing a squad... interestingly players want to play in his team which says something I not sure what.

Laurie Mckenna IMO was the best talent spotting coach we ever had and you could argue in all of Hal...

Somehow, in a salaried capped league, under Wamlsey, Moss [in particular], & PO we have not recruited the best and have lost players to other clubs..

Where does MM rank in the scale... Middy little summary

Lost
DDS ...
Lockie Wales,

Recruited...
O,Neil ... +
Cessie .... -
Millar.... +
Murry ..... not good not bad say even
Shabow .... ditto
MacDonald ... not seen enough
WeeMac..... -
Matty ... not good not bad say even
Aspro ... +
Clisby ... -
Gamerio .... who knows
Oar ...... -
MaCormack ... -

By my count thats 13 signings of which 3 have added value, 5 have failed, and 3 are just holding there place., 1 yet to play, and 1 not enough play to comment but that would indicate a poor signing.

For me this is a fail in the recruitment area, and interesting those that have failed have been the older established players.

Sorry to see Lord G leave he always gave his all and last year in particular that was not always the case

Would you swap Matty for those other strikers? And would you bet they’d have scored more goals and won us more games?

I like Matty. Not interested in shitting on him. But we need a 12 plus goals a season striker at the least to be leading us. And for a striker, the goal stats matter most. By a big margin.
Krishna drops deep and picks up the ball, he tracks back and does the last minute tackles, he's scoring goals but he's also working tirelessly across the entire pitch. A huge asset to any team.
