Yeah I definitely think his link play was good but he got caught upfield too often. Probs thanks to Hoole doing his Ronaldo garbage....

It was if he was the only person thinking that hoole might play the ball back to him or something ........... or maybe he thought there might have neen scraps to recover after hoole was mugged by the defence ??? ............. but it did leave him having to recover defensively on too many occassions and having to commit a silly foul.

If we're keeping Brama and Hiariej I don't think we should go after Bozanic. Bozanic is good but unless he is playing at left wing, which he doesn't seem to like, then we have more than adequate players already on high salaries in his position. As much as players like Bozanic and Wilkinson would probably help bring back fans initially, we need to focus on players who will improve the squad not just our marketability.

Wilko is still the best CB in the competition but is unlikely if we have signed Thwaite . Olly would walk into our starting XI whether at LM/LW/ CAM and TBH would push Wout out at HM given their respective performances this year.

would be interesting having him playing with Wout after the last game they played against each other

What's interesting is that no-one has mentioned that Gamiero kicked out at Wout when the ball went out of play just prior to that incident. All we ever heard about was Saint Corey and the 'worst ever' foul in HAL history. (not even in the finals with Muscat (both), Tiatto, Pantelidis and Rudan well in front)

Seriously, prick move by Okon.
Setting it up so that 'if I leave, the players leave' to leverage your position is spiteful once you see it take action.
I hope the club feels the same and that is the last we see if that bull twang

He usually got the ball back but would send it back to the halfway line or would attempt a terrible cross. Very frustrating to watch.

I find it interesting some of the discussions on players, who to keep, who will be starting etc. My take is that we need to improve player quality dramatically if we are to be competitive.

I use the litmus test of comparing players in our squad (or potential buys) to those teams in the lower half of the six. Would many of our current players make the starting eleven at Adelaide or even Brisbane? The answer is very few if any. In a team that is contesting finals football players like Pain, Hoole and McGing are bench players.

Yes definitely, however attracting quality is hard to do when you won’t pay and you were last. Hence we getting off cuts from poor teams like WSW.
However we need the steel some of them have. We need a season of rebuilding our brand of play and attitude.
We definitely need some ability in the front half. The back is looking solid enough if it works as a team.
My problem was always the attack.

Hoole needs proper coaching, pain is just not good enough week in week out (definitely no2 LW) and a creative mid is especially important.

RB of better quality than McGing is a must. Wouldn’t mind the Asian player if we get one to be an attack minded RB.

Striker is also very important. We can’t run average

And the wingers must provide service and the ability to score them selves.

Maybe a new L and R winger (starting quality). Hoole at 10 as we just don’t have money (i know goes against my first point of needing quality) and we have to play him somewhere and he does like a shot and was our highest assister by a long way and a quality striker.
Pain 1st drop

Wish list is high isn't it? All what you have mentioned is a must to be even a top six chance. We are coming from such a low base.

Couldn't agree more about the difficulty in attracting talent.

One thing we haven't had for a few years is good combinations down each flank....Galloway and Pain were not too bad together but in a bad team wasn't that effective. Paramount we put thought behind RB/RW & LB/LW combos. If they work well together they don't necessarily have to be superstars. Pedj wasn't a great player but was effective in a very good team.
