ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Squad - HAL 14 - 2018- 2019 - The challenge for Mike Mulvey is over

If the remaining squad members are NPL stock, I'm willing to give them a chance. I can't see it working well, but who knows, maybe they will be diamonds and produce the next Jedi, Sainsbury, Rogic, Musty . . . .

If all we get is rocks that can't cope with the A-league, then I'm going to struggle to keep the faith.

We're all willing to give NPL players a chance....as long as they're only part of HAL team.

If I wanted to follow an NPL team, not a HAL team, I'd be following a NPL team.

With the increasing concerns about our squad, hearing the report on what MM said on Coast FM is, for me, the single most disillusioning thing that's happened in the last few years.

Season hasn't started yet and that has already made me feel like this camel's back is broken.

Almost didn't get a membership last year after 12 years and again this year. The last couple of years (this year especially) I've thought, "even if we are rubbish and I decide not to go to games, I'm happy to give the club a couple of hundred dollars to do my bit so that we still have a team down the track". Problem is I'm so attached to this team that I end up going to most games and tend to start each week feeling rotten because of a poor performance, loss, no heart, no goals, no attempts on target etc from the weekend's game. Sounds like hyperbole but it actually puts me in a bad mood for a few days.

From what Mulvey had been saying early on (especially RE: culture, and players needing to live here etc) I had hopes that at least we would be somewhat competitive and not an embarrassment. The more the pre-season (are we even in it yet?) has gone on the less I've been impressed by where I THINK we will be this year with our team. Even still, a couple of weeks ago I renewed my membership along with my family with the intent of probably only going to a couple of games but still supporting the club financially.

My gripe now is this... IF TRUE... finalising our remaining spots with NPL players when our current team looks like All Age 8 division, says to me that the powers that be aren't taking things seriously (I know a lot of people behind the scenes work very hard of course). This together with not taking the FFA Cup serioulsy just annoys me to a point where I become detached from the club.

Yes we are very fortunate to have a team at all. But there is a difference between having a football club (with all that is good about football and football culture) and having a team that plays in a national comp that treats it like a joke.

Point is, I really feel like ringing up, cancelling the membership for me and the family (could use the money to pay the bills really) but I don't want to. Loyalty and love for this club is slowly evaporating sadly and I just want the club to respect us a little bit to try to earn at least some of that back.

I think you nailed the sentiment of most of us :goodpost:

According to Adam Santarossa, Jordan Murray is definitely signing for the Mariners not Sydney FC as claimed originally.
Also didn't play for Apia today.

If one of those NPL players is Jordan Murray that would be a good outcome, but after being totally ignored till recent times, there are now according to rumours a number of A League clubs interested in him.
Hasn't been announced by the club (that I know of) but he isn't playing for APIA and their coach hasn't made a secret of why or where he's going.

If we are going to be getting NPL players i want them to be of this caliber. A striker breaking the goal scoring record deserves a shot. Much like Kenny Athiu at MV and from VIC NPL last year.

It’s the types like the Wolves winger with no results that worries me. Average NPL is not going to suddenly be great in the A League imo

Quite the variation in his finishing, which will be nice for us.

He looks the sort of player that if he's not the one puttinh the final ball into the back of the net
.... then he will always be in there, thereabouts, waiting for an opportunity to score or assist.

We've been lacking that type of 'hungry' player for quite a few seasons now.

Murray looks capable of making the step up. Exactly the sort of NPL talent who should get a chance in the A-League
