THE Mariners are poised to regain veteran leftback Josh Rose, as coach Paul Okon continues the overhaul of his underperforming squad.
It’s believed Rose has agreed to terms on a return to Gosford after a season at Melbourne City, and the deal is likely to be signed off next week.
Rose enjoyed significant success at the Mariners during a previous six-year stint, winning the league title in 2013 and the Premier’s Plate in 2012 under Graham Arnold before becoming disillusioned under Tony Walmsley.

The Mariners moved to re-sign Rose after failing to agree terms with former Sydney FC left back Ali Abbas, who has cut ties with Korean side Pohang Steelers.
Once Rose’s one-year deal is officially ratified it will leave the Mariners with six spots to fill, half of them potentially visa players though one of those is likely to be kept in reserve as a potential mid-season signing.
Two goalkeepers are among those required, as well as a marquee striker to replace Roy O’Donovan.
