ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What does that mean, that "it's a timing thing"?
I mean if the reports are even close to accurate, it can't be that we didn't bid in time because by all accounts we were in there before anyone else. It can't be that he didn't know we were interested either because they've made no bones about it since before the end of the regular season.

. before the end of the season wasn't soon enough - i.e. interest came after he had sold up on Coast (and apparently then bought something closer to his support network in Sydney)

. it may seem odd that having held the property throughout his Korean sojourn that he should sell up after his return ... but when you consider that he seems to have sold-up while the club was clearly showing spending restraint (with no sign of that changing) ... and with a new bub on the way - it is not surprising at all. just disappointing (for me at least)

Harry will be like a lawyer for us.

I'm here to help when ever you need it.

Tony just give me a call and we can talk about it. Just let me punch the clock first so I can send a bill for the consultation.

. lawyer?

. your analogy would perhaps be more acute with psychiatrist/psychologist in there

We are last leaking goals, qualifying year for Socceroos.
Can't be helping us rebuild when Socceroo spot on the line
Or while Tony is coach the timing is never going to be right

. many would argue the contrary i am sure - but a lot could be said for a significant improvement in the leagues worst defence ... he would certainly be more challenged

. Ange ain't stoopid ... i'm sure a conversation could have been had (if Wilko is still within calculations)

While Alex Wilkinson would have been a great pick up from a PR and leadership perspective, showing that we are still a family club and creating a club great with potential to move upstairs when he retires, did we really need him from a pure footballing perspective? We already had signed an outstanding central defender. The player we do have, Jacques Faty, captained the French U17 team that won a youth world cup in 2001, he has played in Ligue 1 with Marseille, Stade Rennes and Sochaux as well as in the Süper Lig with Sivasspor. Jacques Faty is a player with outstanding pedigree and one who has shown he can do it at A-League level. With a quick and learning young centre back at his side such as Harry Ascroft, Jacob Poscoliero or Jake McGing we have the potential for a very strong defensive pairing which one half of could help us survive as a club in the future.

Bacchus from WSW rumours on twitter.

He is contracted to them for next season so would be a release or swap. You would think release as he hasnt excelled for them.

Squaddie at best. Another Stella?

Yeah lends some credence to the idea that we may lose/trade Austin or Fab or let go Stella? If not - not sure why we'd be focusing on picking him up.

Baccus is probably a trade up on Stella, he has played 17 games for WSW in the past season and a half, looks faster and more athletic than Stella and can play 6, 8 or 10.
Decent squad player.

I think what FFC meant was that if Bacchus came in, would he be just another Stella - i.e. another squaddie rough around the edges and not up to the standard we're after.

Keayrn Baccus
Former Le Mans youth player who has had two clubs in the A-League (Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers). While only making two starting appearances all in season 2014-15. In 2012 he was set to join Serie A side Siena until homesickness at Perth Glory forced him to return home to Sydney and join Blacktown City. Personally I haven't seen particularly much in him but he is from a European academy and has a European passport plus is in the age range and in a position we need for backup players so he could be a decent signing if signed on minimum wage. A definite "moneyball" signing".

Was a good junior and Poppa doesn't play many young Real WS kids. Would be a good pick up as first one in when Monty gets to many yellows.

Get him even easier after his mistake for 3rd goal.

All WS finest come here to actually play.

McGing not good enough so should be better than him. Could be a good pickup if we don't have to give up anything to get him.

Still only 24 as well. If on minimum wage I think he could be great.
