ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He's also about to become the manager of Nigeria, so that's unlikely.

In better news, we're re-signing Buhagiar for another year.

Storrie and Redknapp.

Only Charlesworth would be so stupid. I assume he doesn't have access to google or anyone with a passing knowledge of English football.

I've always liked Harry.

Great move by the club I think. This is the kind of outside the box thinking required to help a small regional club thrive both on and off the field at the same time as far as I'm concerned.

Provide experienced mentors to help the development and support of people most committed to our club long term, not just as a stepping stone. We're not positioned to survive the privileged cycle of spending and rapid paced hiring and firing that has become so commonplace in world football.

People like Harry and Garcia are also very important in building allies and vital networks. We need to think bigger and better if we're to succeed long term agains bigger clubs in better markets. Personally think this is doing exactly that.

connect the club with his ties abroad.

I suspect this is main point of his consultancy

Also on the night Central Coast Mariners Owner, Mike Charlesworth announced that Harry Redknapp is on board to assist Mariners’ recruitment to help unearth gems such as Mitch Austin and lure them to the Central Coast.

The former Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United boss will work as a consultant to not only the Central Coast Mariners football department, but also connect the Yellow & Navy with his ties abroad.

I love Arry.
That is exciting news as his connections and knowledge would be immense.
I will also go to any fan forum that he does as I love to hear his thoughts and he is a great talker. (I've never been to one before, due to lack of interest ).

I'm more worried about what signing 'Arry to any sort of arrangement means than what signing Storrie alone meant.

Not least because it's possible he's just turned down the Nigeria job. [edit]that was based on a somewhat excitable story that has exactly no quotes from anybody and loads of speculation[/edit]

With the two together, we can look forward to a blaze of glory.

Redknapp as manager, Defoe up front, Dawson down the back, a tide of red ink. We finish fourth, go bust and get relocated to Canberra...

I'd genuinely prefer another year limping along with Walmsley, and surviving to the new TV deal.

Ha!

I just don't see it. Everything we've done has been about cuting costs. Just because these 2 may be here i can't see MC abandoning his restraint on spending. No matter what they may have done before.

"Whats the point" Me suspects its all a bit of a distraction. Now that Harry is consultant, ccm fans will be ok for TW to stay on.

re Wilko

. apparently it was NOT a money thing ... and i have no reason to suspect otherwise

. it was a timing thing ... and for that the club must take responsibility. this was one of the few opportunities they had to demonstrate that they still are a 'family club' ... and they blew it

. very, very disappointed

I can't figure out what it is we want, or how Harry gets it for us.
You'll just have to wait and see then hey.

My guess is he'll work with TW, kind of like a mentor so that we don't have to spend money on a real gaffer.

What does that mean, that "it's a timing thing"?
I mean if the reports are even close to accurate, it can't be that we didn't bid in time because by all accounts we were in there before anyone else. It can't be that he didn't know we were interested either because they've made no bones about it since before the end of the regular season.

Harry will be like a lawyer for us.

I'm here to help when ever you need it.

Tony just give me a call and we can talk about it. Just let me punch the clock first so I can send a bill for the consultation.

We are last leaking goals, qualifying year for Socceroos.
Can't be helping us rebuild when Socceroo spot on the line
Or while Tony is coach the timing is never going to be right
