ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

On Wilko, we won't know until after City's season ends. I'm guessing that the keeper search is on now though.

Take your pick

Also, scum have a major announcement tomorrow. Their lot think it's Biraghitti (sp) to Perth or O/S.

Some minor speculation that it's us.

That means all our visa spots are taken up.

Monty
Ferrera
Faty
Tavares
Roy

So if we are to get a good no.10 they will have to be Ausie or a marque.

Though he declined to go into the specifics of a reported multi-year offer worth $300,000 a season, a Mariners official said: "We are aware of the speculation surrounding his future and we would always be interested in a player of his quality. That said, he will of course have several other options.".

No it isn't.
We never use all our visa spots.
He is a bit step up in quality.
What are you winging about?
Not using all our visa spots is a huge problem surely one of Tony Walmsley, Luis Garcia, Roy O'Donovan, Nick Montgomery, Fabio Ferriera knows a quality player not only in Faty's position but for the rest of our visa spots. Visa players are a huge advantage and we shouldn't waste a single one. Where would Adelaide be without their foreigners or any of the top six for that matter. He is a step up in quality from our current crop though basically every central defender in the A-League is. We have such a small budget that we need to make sure each signing is perfect. We need to see all the cards on the table and then make the best decision. Faty most likely is and was that a week ago but after the finals when A-League clubs finish and release their players and when European clubs do, will he still be?

I've never spoken to Monty apart from to shake his hand a few times but I'm told he loves it here and is well settled.
Sheffield makes Newcastle (NSW) look nice so I would think he would be very keen to get the "surgery done" and settle here permantly.

I think its good use of visa spots - provided we go for a marquee 10. Which I think we will.

Wilko, marquee 10, experienced keeper + what we now have - we'll be well on the way.

Actually - on that - does anyone know whether Wilko would actually be eligible as a loyalty player? - not that it makes much difference but I was curious :)

Unless the club nudges Fabio and Monty to become citizens.

I hope they nudge soon otherwise our options for the #10 primarily, and any possible marquee player, are severely limited. BTW - I am not expecting a marquee - but MC has said if it makes sense and can be for the most part covered by third party it would be considered.

Unless there's some miracle I'd say it's waaaaaaayyyy too late to nudge anyone - I'd be surprised to see the department of immigration, or whatever they're called this week, manage that for anyone in yukky time needed to get it done to move players around and sign someone ahead of the start of next season.

At what point through the season did TW think Tavares would be a great acquisition for the Mariners's, if Arnie couldn't get the best out of him what makes TW think he can this I've gota see.

He did get the best out of him last season. They made the GF with Faty and Tavares.

I can only assume you missed the bit where they both played in FC's Grand Final season just 12 months ago...
