Off contract A-League players
Today's feature: Adelaide United
Mate Dugandzic
Former Melbourne Knight, Dinamo Zagreb, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne Heart winger. Once considered a future Socceroo the former Australian U23 international has struggled for regular game time and form since his horrific broken leg in the 2012/13 season. Is a better player in a creative role and potentially could be the number 10 we need. Would be cheap if Adelaide do not want him. Could be a great signing for us especially if he can become the player that Dinamo thought he could be.
Craig Goodwin
Was a crucial part of Adelaide United's title win this year and has offers from Europe. The former Heart and Jets starlet has gone from a strength to strength at Adelaide. Unlikely we could sign him and isn't in the position we particularly need to strengthen. Maybe keep on speed dial if his potential European move goes south.
John Hall
The Olyroo has only made 7 appearances for the Reds in his four years at the club showed potential however in his few games. Not in a position we need nor seemingly wanted by Adelaide will be interesting to see where he ends up.
Dylan McGowan
Seemingly targeted by Sydney FC the former Hearts of Midlothian man will be hot property this transfer window. We'd be a long shot for the signature not only because of Sydney but because we've gone all in for Alex Wilkinson.
George Mells
With an impressive youth career with Chelsea and Southampton as well as representing both the Joeys and the Greek U17s the defensive minded midfielder has undoubted pedigree and could be a potential "moneyball" signing. Adelaide have an option for another year though so could be unlikely.
Mark Ochieng
A youngster with limited game time who has only played one game for Adelaide (in the FFA Cup) can play as both a right winger and a right fullback. His father represented the Kenyan national team. Could be a decent squaddie and another "moneyball" signing if Adelaide don't resign him.
Pablo Sánchez
The Spanish Ségunda division veteran could be a good signing if he wishes to stay in Australia and doesn't command high wages. Would provide good competition for Fabio down the right but is not in a position we actively need.
Dylan Smith
Young winger who has only appeared once for in the A-League. Could be a decent squaddie if potential is seen in him by Tony Walmsley.
Ben Warland
Young centre back who lacks major A-League experience. Highly unlikely signing considering our youthful backline.
