Cockerill said Sydney FC are gunning for him though so I wouldn't be surprised if he went there so Perth have plenty to spend in January.

Perth is saying today that they had an enquiry from Sydney and softly pointed out that he's still got 18 months to run on his contract and to pull their heads in, after which they got an apology it seems.
So I'm with Tevor, if he's going anywhere I'd say it'd be overseas or in a swap of some sort - but it'd have to have some merit.

Might be more to do with where the player is playing at the moment.

Might not be a technical injury replacement, just what the club call it. As in we are going to use Jakes spot but maybe not a direct replacement. Would be my guess

Isn't there something about the replacement at least having to be able to play in the same position as the injured player?
I seem to recall there having been some discussion around this in Adelaide earlier this season.

I spoke to Jake during one game when he did his first ACL. He said that most of his junior football was as a central midfield player but he would be happy player anywhere as long as he was on the pitch.

Stefan Mauk has played a total of 20 minutes for NEC in the Netherlands, Anthony Kalik hasn't made an appearance for Hadjuk since the coach that brought him in was axed either would be a great loan signing for us.

Showed promise last year and been solid in the few minutes he's had for us this year. Tricky one isn't he. Going to be interesting to see if he is released or not - neither would surprise - personally I love transitioning our youth through so if he can be kept I would.

AU... madness.. players clearly in a post title hangover... will be losing a good coach and watching a title winning side fall apart. Though you could draw the conclusion that it all fell apart with the reigning oh Holland.

On Isais, good Tav replacement and well suited to Okonball but we need a true 10 first and foremost. Mauk would be great - but he'd be crazy to come home from the Eredivisie so quickly to join the struggling Mariners. Can't see him leaving the euro dream behind so quickly.
