Mariners Squad - HAL 11 - 2015/2016

Speculative article suggesting Monty dobbed him in for saying.

Wait for it......

Moss was a better coach.

So he's back on the drink then.
Pretty big insult. Deserves suspension just for thinking it.

Moss couldn't get defence or offence right.
Walmsly one ups him on offence

Moss was nothing short of a joke.
Decent bloke but f**kin clueless as a coach.
Warmsley is the real deal but is short of a quality, central defender. You can only think that its the Mariners being cheap arse as usual as to the reason we haven't signed one.
Bosnar is a cockhead. He is a reasonable player but nothing more. But his perception of his ability is out of touch with the reality of his talents.
He has always been a big mouth but has never backed up his mouth with any perceptible talent.

Reddy on the other hand is a quality keeper.....but he shows cockhead tendencies.

He has put in massively so deserves to offer his opinion on our approach this season (as opposed to Bos who should shut the f**k up and jog on). For me Reddy is one of those intense nutters that barely hold themselves together. Mix him with a cockhead like Bosnar and your problems start.
I would like the club to bury the hatchet with Reddy. If he can't get his shit together and toe the line then punt him, but he deserves a second chance and we need his quality.

I've got to say I've gotten used to the media wilfully speculating and passing it off as reporting at times like this. I don't trust what I've yet read as the whole story or even the accurate one.

I would like to think that management would only be taking these actions for something pretty serious and not just because 'Reddy complained' (as it's so far being sold). At the very least he would have to have been outright and unforgivably toxic in the dressing room to warrant this kind of action. There will be more to this yet, it's the only thing that makes any sense. Considering how serious the matter is you would expect the club to do the appropriate thing and say little else publicly until something is resolved. This quite necessarily means we are not being told the whole story.
The little 'insider leaks' that keep coming out reek of a dissatisfied party out to put on a media spin.
I just don't trust the reports we've read yet - quite simply they don't stack up. Vague, bitchy stuff with no substance that doesn't add up to the actions we're seeing. Apart from the fact Reddy has been stood down for disciplinary reasons the rest is weak media speculation peppered with opinion.

it emerged that Reddy’s first suspension came after he posted on Instagram a photo of the team’s accommodation in which the bunk beds had no mattresses.

Here's the photo in question: (captioned "@poscoj bed for the night #thisisnotbanter")

All those ❌ !!! Ahhhh the nay-sayers ...

He's a good shot-stopper, no doubt. But poor at coming out for the crosses - prefering to punch than catch  and as previously stated, gets a B+ at best in distribution from the back.

BUT,
Reddy was a dick-head, always has been a dick-head AND is STILL proving he's a dick-head! as well as proving me right as to his worthiness to be 'Captain' of a CCM side with an injured Monty.

The clich'e says: "That he who laughs last, wins".
I've chuckled , but this is NO laughing matter and far as being the winner?

Neither myself as a staunch fan, Reddy or the Club itself can raise a hand. :(
"Houston, we have a problem !!!"

Screw the PFA, the club HAS every right to remove him from the 1st Team as long as its by the current written rules; the 'Ebola' clause should be brought into effect immediately. Quarantine is a widely respected practice in both First and Third World countries.

Liam either comes to terms w/ the Club - (leave) & then can try to salvage his career somewhere else like the Ladyboy League in Thailand or some other half-arse Asian League where washed up A-League players finish topping up their super-funds.

OR stubbornly sitting on the bench of Youth League 'just for the cash', will only be of detriment to him & more importantly US! (personally, wouldn't even allow that to occur either).

'Pat Jennings' reposted my post on Walmsley trialling ex-Liverpool junior 'Oldfield' during the pre-season.
Some questioned why??? sign a 3rd keeper when we had young Izzo (an Olyroo!) & young Adam Pearce ???

Answer: Liam REDDY !!!

Playing poker, The Club should show it's hand and sign Chris Oldfield NOW! Don't muck-about, it shows Reddy 'he's done', his place in the squad is already filled & that he should move on for the best interests of both parties.

Why Oldfield?

He'll be cheap, real cheap! & Mike Charlesworth likes that.
That aside Walmsley trialled him so he saw something he liked.
  • Oldfield was last years Victorian NPL Goal Keeper of the Year,
  • He's 6ft 2 & solidly built
  • Great shot stopper- check his youtube form
  • His Footballing Education- Liverpool spied him at just 12 yo. Stayed there all the way to making reserves and a 1st Team pre-season trip abroad before leaving at 18 yo, because he had one Pepe Reina at his prime in front of him. (There's this guy at Adelaide who's a Chelsea 'discard' who was found at Dulwich Hill, NSW & he's doing more than alright in the A-League, why can't we 'find' a similar in this Scouser ?
  • Then he played for various lower league English clubs which to me, makes him more experienced than Izzo, b4 coming to Aus.
  • Will be a non- visa player soon enough
  • Lastly, his current NPL Hulme City coach, Lou Acevski (a former NSL Keeper with Northern Spirit) rates him highly and can't believe Oldfield's NOT playing A-League already ! (mainly due to visa) as, did I mention both Melb Victory & Melb City trialled him.
T'is but a NO BRAINER for me.
Sign the guy.

Yes, assumptions. My assumption is, if Boz was "as-one" with Reddy in whatever the problem is, we'd be talking about 2 guys suspended, not just one. So I'm going to assume because he isn't suspended and has been named in the pre-omitted squad that he's not involved. That doesn't mean anything of course, I'm usually wrong about most things.

I think it would be popular if Bosnar was the other player. That doesn't mean it's him of even true.

Could be any of the overpaid rubbish that Moss brought in.

If it's true

Yeah, *massive* grains of salt need to be taken with anything that hasn't been taken direct from a credible source.

Even then, experience on here tells me that credible sources are usually able to correctly predict 10 out of every 3 dressing room crises.

It's sad to say but we have virus in the dressing room ,and it needs to be treated fast.As for the players we have a very thin league limited teams limited rosters so if you love your job then just toe the line .This game will always evolve and we can't be pedestrian in the way we play.We got a young team and the older boys have got to stop bitchin and whingeing.

I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to realise the other senior player is Bosnar. The bloke is a fruitloop. He doesn't fit Walmsleys style of play and would feel threatened by the young blokes. On the bench for round 1,doesn't make the matchday squad for round 2 and Walmsley takes up Jamba instead of Bosnar who has 0 experience and after watching him play for CCFC the past season not ready for A-league imo.
The Moss era still hangs over the squads head.Bosnar was only signed for 1 year but was sneakily re-signed by Moss last season which made Walmsley stuck with him.Can almost gurantee if his contract was up Walmsley would have brought in a more experienced ball playing CB to lead the back line.

Being a professional footballer is being an employee. Employees in any field have to toe the management line. Managers change over time, as do company policies, and if you want to remain an employee of that particular company, you have to change with those changes. If you refuse to change and try to stir up problems in the organisation, the organisation will give you a DCM quick smart. If this is the situation with Reddy (and of course we don't know that it is or even what it is) then the club must move him on, and anyone else that sides with him, for its own health.

If it's idle speculation you like, there's always the thought that if Bosnar were the one on the outer then maybe a certain former Mariner who has a contract overseas that expires in December might be a good prospect to come home and fill any vacancy that might arise.
