As far as I can tell, we have the following players signed beyond this year:

Harry Ascroft
Mitchell Austin
Fabio Ferreira
Matthew Fletcher
Paul Izzo
Anthony Kalik
Nick Montgomery
Michael Neill
Roy O’Donovan
Jacob Poscoliero
Joshua Rose
Liam Rose
Storm Roux
Glen Trifiro

A couple of these are probably looking at the departure lounge before that - if rumours of unrest are worth anything then Kalik and Trifiro might be on their way.

Players with deals expiring this year are:
Josh Bingham
Alistair Bray
Trent Buhagiar
Luis Garcia
Dan Heffernan
Brad McDonald
Jake McGing
Francesco Stella
Tomislav Uskok

Some of these are effectively on trial, but I wouldn't be surprised to see extensions for Bingham, Bray and McGing, with a few others not that far off.

It's starting to look a lot more like a Walmsley squad than a Moss squad.

TW signed Jake on a 1yr deal to start with, then they extended it to a 2yr deal.

I believe it was Ascroft that was signed on a 3yr deal.

"The Central Coast Mariners are excited to announce that 21-year old defender, Jake McGing has agreed to a two-year contract extension that will see him remain in Yellow & Navy until at least the end of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 Season"

What was the percentage % clause on Maty Ryans deal ???

CCM reportedly were to recieve $1.5 million from him being sold from Club Brugge to Valencia.

This would have to blow that out of the water !!!
Not quite.

Quoted fee for Ryan transfer was $10million. The above states a rumoured 8 figure combined value, including transfer fee AND the proposed wages of his 3 year deal, which you would assume would be in the region of $1mil a year to consider the switch.

Scouting report from our man in Hanoi.

Ok. In a street bar in Hanoi old quarter (cheapest beer 17c a go) and get talking to a victory fan who watches a lot of VPL

In his opinion, Tommy U can be the next Ogmonster. Said he was a genuine leader and should have a good career. Reckoned he could score a move to Japan or Korea if he settles well.

Then we spent the next hour rubbishing Heart

It's crazy isn't it? I'm not sure if I've just embraced defeat unknowingly, or whether it's an actual subconscious acknowledgement of potential but, with a few smaller adjustments, I think I'd be quite happy actually, to go into the next season or two, with this squad.

Heffernan obviously is going, Stella's impressed but haven't seen quite enough yet to fully build confidence, same goes for Uskok and probably Bray - but signs are pretty good.
Bingham needs an extension quick-smart I think and I haven't got a clue what to make of McDonald yet.
I still think Izzo's got potential, but I think he's dropping in the queue right now and I have no idea what's going to happen with Triff, but win-or-lose, that's a team I can get behind... If Uncle Tony could convince MC and Wilko to get Wilko to return, I think I'd be delirious for all of next season ;)

If we managed to get Wilko and Hersi then next years squad looks pretty strong. Also, if Luis's stint is successful then we could see him stay for next season. Something like this ......
...........................................Bray/Izzo.......................................................Storm.........Wilko...............Ascroft...................Neill.........................................................Monty.......................................................Fab..................Luis......................Hersi................Austin.................................................Roy/Fletch................................................

A much better balance of youth and experience with genuine competition for places. All midfielders can score goals and there will be a bench that can impact a game for a change.

People are obviously excited to see Garcia play but personally I am looking forward to see Fletcher play and hoping he can live up to the hype TW has placed on him. We need someone who is a natural goal scorer, getting in places at the right time and given how we play needs to hold the ball up well and not be afraid of taking people on.

Amid the mooted hysteria of Luis Garcia's first A-League appearance for Central Coast, former Western Sydney fan favourite Youssouf Hersi will slip into Gosford for a medical.

21 JAN 2016 - 12:03 PM
Hersi flies in from Holland on Sunday and, pending approval from club doctors, will sign with the Mariners until the end of this season with a view to stay longer.

Chief executive Shaun Mielekamp said if all goes well he expects Hersi to be available for Saturday week's away match with Wellington.

"We've got to go through the medical and get through that part, then we're currently working through until the back end of this season and potentially next season," Mielekamp told AAP.
Hersi made his A-League name playing an integral role in the Wanderers' history-making inaugural season, though he was suspended for their grand final appearance.

Mielekamp expected the 33-year-old winger to add valuable experience to coach Tony Walmsley's young squad, which will also benefit from the leadership of newly arrived former Liverpool star Garcia.

The main concern would be whether he has fully recovered from the hamstring tear that hampered his time at Perth last season.

Hersi has been training with a club in Holland since the Glory released him in May after only eight appearances.

Me too. He could yet turn out to be our best signing in this period. If he fulfills his potential we will have a winner.
