ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Garcia will take some time to build fitness but with that experience and technique he will do well. As I've said before the effect of just his draw on defenders and inevitable through balls...what that'll do for Bingham, Austin and Fab...can't wait

I'll tell you what if 3 weeks ago you asked me would I trade Cac and Fitzy for Garcia and Hersi....

Would have been good to trade Fitzy with David Williams from MC. Shame to have let him go without any benefit to us apart from a free space.

I'mm thinking it might actually be for the better anyway... Whoever's going to be playing as out CAM more permanently, is going to ned a bit of time to learn and settle into that role probably.
That being the case, there'd be no harm in having Garcia start - while the other side is still fresh an up for a bit of a challenge, then swap him out when he runs out of puff, for someone with fresh legs but perhaps not quite the same vision.
So might work better from a mentoring point-of-view

Still not sure about Hersi, be interesting to see though, I think.

Just needs to pass our medical then the announcement.

I suspect late Thursday arvo, that way Friday's CC Express will be a bumper issue filled w/ Mariners news, the Garcia build-up etc. for the WSW game this weekend.

Bahahahaha. Indeed.

"Garcia will take some time to build fitness"
Well, he'll need some match fitness for sure. But look at the other thread and the instagram links I posted. Luis is a fitness freak and true athlete. It's clearly part of his lifestyle. This is a guy who enjoys it and has not stopped working.

Club has done very well here. Hats off. I really didn't expect him to be in such great physical shape. I'm feeling way more excited and optimistic now.

I was really hopeful that something would eventuate from the Everton relationship....but it seems very quiet on that front unfortunately.

I noticed that Sains wasn't in the squad for PEC on the weekend. I assumed he was injured. Could it be he was rested due to a big money transfer? Is that how the game is played?

Probably a bit optimistic to be looking at Sains as the sell isn't it?
I mean, he's almost spent more time injured than on field thanks to that bl**dy sprinkler... Not that he's not good, just that there's been limited time for someone else to look at him.

Yeah Risdon or Thwaite would be my guess... Has Thwaite's move actually been officially acknowledged yet?

Wilko still an option for us:

“It’s great that they signed [Luis] Garcia,” Wilkinson said when asked about the former Liverpool player, who arrives in Sydney on Thursday.

“Hopefully it gets a lot of the Central Coast people through the gates and gets them out to support the team.

“If I do decide to come back to the A-League the Mariners could be an option…I’m not sure.”

that would just be such a great thing, I'd be as excited about that as about Garcia - and I'm sure a large number of coasties would too. Former captain/Mariners hero/legend returns, brings that level of experience to CB...awww please do!
