that would just be such a great thing, I'd be as excited about that as about Garcia - and I'm sure a large number of coasties would too. Former captain/Mariners hero/legend returns, brings that level of experience to CB...awww please do!

Also provides a succession option for the Captaincy...
I'm doubtful we'd be throwing any more money at signings after Hersi tbh... But holy #$!@#$ I'd be giddy as a little girl at the thought of Wilko back in :D Even with Garcia, that'd probably be the signing of the season for me...

*sigh* oh the dreams we have :(

Mariners sign Matthew Fletcher

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/01/20/mariners-sign-matthew-fletcher
The striker will wear Yellow & Navy until at least the end of the 2016-2017 Season and is available for selection this Saturday to take on the Western Sydney Wanderers.

The 23-year-old, who has spent majority of his career in the U.K. with the likes of Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday & Hull City will add some serious firepower to Walmsley’s front third.

Fletcher has been training with the Central Coast Mariners since before Christmas and joins Luis Garcia, Brad McDonald, Alastair Bray, Francesco Stella & Trent Buhagiar on the list of Mariners’ January transfer recruits.

It’s been a busy month for the Central Coast Mariners and Head Coach Tony Walmsley believes that Fletcher has what it takes to be a prominent goalscorer in the Hyundai A-League.

“Fletch has really impressed everyone with his approach since he's arrived. He needed to work hard for this opportunity after time out through injury and has shown a real appetite and dedication to his craft,” Walmsley said.

“His potential excites me. He has all the makings of a top class striker and we expect him to start to fulfil that potential and be a great contributor to the Mariners future success,” Walmsley said.

Not used to all these signings in January... so used to losing our best players around this time of year and having to be 'happy for them' as they move on to bigger and better things.

Next years squad is taking shape. I'm liking the way it's coming together. We would still need a very good 10 (unless Hersi can fill that role), and experience at the back (Wilko would be perfect, i'm ever hopeful), and one or 2 from Everton. All our young players will benefit from this tough season, and if Garcia is a flat out success then maybe MC will look to extend his contract?

I do feel sorry for Sim and would like to see him get a decent crack somewhere. Unfortunately for him we need more at this time in our history

Massive transfer news will be breaking on @FOXSportsNews at 4 pm this afternoon. The Story is about @Socceroos defender's big money transfer

Phil Dross on Fox just said it is Sanga.

He has "very strong mail" on a MASSIVE $$$ offer to his Dutch club, PEC Zwolle from Chinese Super League club JIANGSU SUNING.

"Deal is very imminent & could happen anytime now. Yeah ... look .. a massive deal that's going to set him up for life, one he just can't refuse."

Jiangsu Suning have an annual budget of $120 million AUD.

They recently offered Yaya Toure $26 million per year in wages.

The combined value of Sainsbury’s three-year deal, including to the transfer fee paid to sign the player, is believed to be in the vicinity of eight figures.

Wow...

For his development, I'd hope for him he has a chat to Griffiths the elder... For his superannuation though, It'd be bl**dy hard to say no to I think...

Please tell me we got an on-sell in there too ;) - Might finance the return of Wilko...

Think most of these changes are a nod to next season. Anyone have a list of who is contracted to when? Looks like this will be the bones of the squad for next season-
GK - Bray & Izzo
DF - Storm, Posco, McGing, Ascroft, Uskock, Micky Neill, Brad Mac.
Mids - Fab, Stella, Austin, Monty, Liam Rose.
Attack- Buhagiar, Fletcher, Roy, Bing.

Josh Rose may retire at the end of the season, Kalik seems likely to move, and highly unlikely we retain Tricky.
I expect Hersi to stay with us next season if he passes his medical and proves his worth in the next 3 months or so.
Leaves room for 3 or 4 quality players.

What was the percentage % clause on Maty Ryans deal ???

CCM reportedly were to recieve $1.5 million from him being sold from Club Brugge to Valencia.

This would have to blow that out of the water !!!
