Of the 8 that have gone from the beginning of last year Sainsbury, Ibini and McBreen all left for OS and no-one seemed to begrudge them the move. It didn't work out for Bernie and he came back to the HAL - but he wasn't our player.

Sterj and Kwas retired and I'm sure we all wish them well.

Pasfield was released by the club and is now plying his trade in Singapore. In reality with Reddy getting an upgraded contract the money was probably not allocated for Justin.

Flores is under an injury cloud and has been replaced by a so far under-rated player that statistically had a better season than him. Flores played 12 games for 3 goals (all from the spot) and 1 assist. Kim played 8 games for 2 goals and 3 assists, By way of comparison Wee-Mac played 9 games for 2 goals and no assists.

Griffiths as yet has not been offered a contract.

Mossy had no control over the first 3 and they happened before our run into 3rd when many pundits wrote us. He also really had no say in the retirement of the next 2. The remaining football decisions are not unreasonable. In reality the only CCM player that was getting game time that we have lost is Sterj.

I'm prepared to wait a few weeks and see what transpires in our strengthening of the attack that Mossy fore-shadowed before becoming too pessimistic. I do though reserve the right to become pessimistic then ;)

Football Federation Australia has fessed up to an error that saw its official website go live with a draft media release heralding the signing of Michael McGlinchey by hometown club Wellington Phoenix.

While Phoenix communications manager Russell Gray was put in a tricky situation of trying to hose down reports, with negotiations said to be continuing between the clubs.

The mariners release was quite vague in my mind. If they hadn't been talking they would have been pissed & started talking tampering etc.

Just a simple we expect him for season 10 after finished at VS.

Not a tough stance at all IMO.

I have checked the VS website & they haven't got any news of a release for WeeMac on there news section. They do have the release of Danny on the 29th May. They have also taken Danny's picture off the players section but WeeMac's is still there.

The J League are on holidays for the world cup so it is feasible for WeeMac to be in Scotland however I don't think he has been released by VS yet.

However now would be the time to sort that stuff out so feasible discussions are on but no releases given at this point in time.

Good post as usual. Taking emotion out of it there wasn't much we could do about Bernie and he wasn't our player anyway. Flores would have been a risk....he was barely a 90 minute player last season and with the sort of injury he has had unfortunately he'll struggle to get back to where he was 3 seasons ago. I think Kim will prove to be a very dangerous player once he gets a pre season in and gets used to the way we play. Boz is an excellent signing. We just need a decent right sided midfielder, a gun striker and a back up keeper and we are set to go. I'm disappointed with the Wee Mac saga but it is what it is, no point dwelling on it.

Don't forget Berni Agreed to stay before backing out for SFC cash
He may have done verbally but he chose to go to Sydney and there wasn't alot that we could do about it. I think Bernie was the one player in all of this that Mossy really wanted to keep.

i thought sydney offered more to bernies club for a loan, hence the club did not take our lesser offer, hence bernie never had a real choice to play for mariners as we didnt meet the fee sydney paid his club for the loan?

That's how I see it, Bernie had no choice his club took more money from Sydney. I'd imagine the exclusive loan deal ended at the end of the season and we were too slow/lazy to renew and Sydney jumped in and gave his Chinese club an offer they couldn't refuse.

Odd rumour on SFCU from Mick Kmet in a discussion about McGlinchey

McGlinchey has no contract. A few weeks ago the club changed its legal entity making all contracts null and void. The players all had to come in and re-sign their contracts. McGlinchey is still overseas making him a free agent.

Arnie was trying to lure our left back away as a result.

I asked:

Surely Seip is gone then, right?

To which he replied:

Probably gone the same way as the money for a whole heap of creditors

For all I know it's a load of bullshit though.

All of the above is true and the week of bad news is not over yet. If you have seen the Facebook post from the guy from the yellow army

I'm calling BS too.

Something like that would have attracted at least one journo's attention by now (or at the very least a mention by SST), not to mention the fact that the FFA would have had to sign off on the transfer of the licence to the new entity beforehand - and that would have sparked its own round of speculation.

FFA did sign off on it. Do a quick company search online and you will see the new entity that started last year. Players had to wait until the end of this season to sign for the new entity.

This seems like a massive deal, I wouldn't be surprised if its true, but I am extremely surprised that we found out about it by a sneaky few sentences on another forum, rather than an epic media storm.

I mean, the media around the mariners can sniff out when players arent being paid, when there are tensions between coaches and players and even when someone dresses inappropriately at a Mad Monday, but noone thought this would make for a good piece of "kick the mariners while they're down" reading?

I would like some more information on the implications of switching legal entities, is it honestly being suggested that by simply switching over we can nullify all peoples contracts? That seems like a really easy way to cull some deadwood to me...

Which entity would that be? Central Coast Mariners FC Pty Ltd is the entity that has been in existence since 2004 and as far as I can see has not been replaced as the current entity.
