You don't just "set lawyers onto" an organisation. Especially one you will get no financial return from.

Sounds much more like the employment contracts are being amended to reflect the change of ownership of the club; it does not mean all existing contracts are cancelled or invalid.

Starting to get some hope of retaining WeeMac...waiting for that to be dashed! If he stays then a top forward would round off the squad nicely. Along with a back up keeper and maybe a replacement for Seip.

I'd be stunned if anyone here was simply unhappy because they didn't break the news first.
that needs to get understood is that times have been tumultuous, many bad rumors end up untrue and people just don't want to feel more angst unless it's actually necessary - that is until any bad news is actually locked in stone

So far, I don't think anyone's called Mick a liar, there's been discussion about the quality of his source and their actual understanding of the source material. We "people hear(sic)" are just discussing the situation, trying to understand it and hoping to find some stability for the club.

Have to agree here. We are here to discuss everything, good or bad. There are certain people that only post doom and gloom which I tend to ignore as they obviously have another agenda. No one is calling anyone a liar we just like to see a balanced viewpoint. TGIF!

The relation between the club and the association for a number of years now has been strained from posts on the forum... many on the forum have taken the side of the association and some have pointed out the clubs side of things...

My experience in these matters there is usually fault on both sides and every now and then you can get a head of an local community body who sees themselves as a fountain of wisdom ... I have no idea of the personalises in question..... but I suggest fault on both sides...

However our club needs to work within the two very specific external bodies ...1 FFA, to move the licence from one company to another is possible, however I would suggest FFA would ensure there where no legal issues that in time could come back at them... meaning if it has changed I assume checks have been undertaken by FFA ... 2] the Players Association they would also be involved if for nothing else than FFA sign off...

Bilo I have no doubt you have the Mariners at heart .... I have no doubt you believe what you are posting .... I have no doubt you despise MC and maybe are to easy to accept anything negative said...

Its kinda like Dibo praising and signing the glories of the liberal party for you to say anything ever remotely nice about how the club is being managed...

However this is what I understand today and please correct me if I am wrong ... we have a squad of 20 players all being paid and a coaching staff... we have arguably the best training facilities of any club of any sport in Australia ... we are in the Asian Cup next year ... we have the highest % of fans re population per game than any other club in the league...

The key issues from the last forum .... we need 11, 660 people per match ... we need to lift our corporate income and if we do that the 11, 660 figure will fall ... the analysis and research by the club is if we take two games away we will make $ 250, 000 per match, also the belief it will add in time to people travelling to BT and increase corporate sponsors...

You don't believe this and think its wrong and you have a better plan ... what you are saying is management have made a poor decision and you know better how to run the club .... my question to you is how the heck can you be so certain ... you don't have the books or any of the information these decisions are being made on.. but you post as if you are the lord himself and say you associate with very clever business people who have offered to take over the club... let me tell you a little home truth NO BUSINESS person that is halfway as astute as you think these folk are would not do the same research as MC has done and they may come to the same answer...

As a issue I put this here purely for if I was running a club I would be interested..

These are from what I recall I did about 12 months ago .. the % of the population that watch the A-League from capital cities varies from just over 0.5 % to 0.80% ... The Nix is about 1.8%, Jets 2.5% and the Mariners 3.1% ... it clearly shows regional centres get better crowds than major cities ...

Sydney comes in at about 0.7 % ... and of our 3.1% many are Sydney and some Newcastle based so maybe our true % is somewhere between 2 & 2.5% ...

Tis interesting if you take this kinda analysis and look at markets to grow your product ... tis said it is much easier to grow from a small base ...
