ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The optimist in me says we have some real talent rising through the Club's ranks that still need time to settle.

The realist in me though, sees us pulling players from the youth ranks, consistently, over the last couple of seasons, at some point, we're going to have a youth team that's only played a season or less and we'll struggle to pull new players from there for a while.
I was of the understanding that this is really where we're at :(

The pessimist in me sees all the HAL clubs (except us) tooling up for the new season with some excellent signings. The worst part is that the Scum to the north look to have changed from being worthy of ridicule to being a very strong outfit.

This... I thought this was somehow supposed to be a bit different... Like not announcing signings a couple of days before the start of the season - hanging on to the transfer window for dear life, hoping to sign someone that the others miraculously missed...
It's starting to feel like "same-old-same-old" only worse this time :(

Boy!!! I Hope Moss has some rely great signing up his sleeve because our midfield and forwards are now looking really lean.

This is my hope also - and I hope it is true. In some ways this is an understandable loss. Wee-Mac was one of my favourite players. However, he was not due back until the end of December. The position was you have a player that wants to play elsewhere forced to come back for 3-4 months halfway during the season. Is it better to chase a great ( and get) a great signing now?

Mossy's style seems to be a quick transition counter-attacking style rather than the build from the back slowly style of Arnie. Last season it was Bernie replacing Wee-Mac, another in that style would seem to suit Mossy better.

You think maybe this is a problem with Phil Moss. My understanding is the players don't want to play for him and are looking for a way out. This also won't be the last.

Possibly. He must have been very adamant to go for the mariners to release him.

MC may be telling the truth as it stands right now, but it sounds very much like he'll be going very soon. It sounds as if he doesn't rate Mossy as a good coach, or at least not a good coach for him. Who's going to be next I wonder?

Out of honest curiousity, where are you reading this? Other than rumours on here that is :)

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
I still don't like our duplicitous owner any ....and Bruce, The Board and Mossy are starting to grate on my nerves too

I hope it is not the last; I want Seip and Kim to go home :innocent:

If McGlinchey has gone it is more about Charlesworth, who planned to cash in on the sale of McGlinchey to Japan, than Phil Moss. I would be imagine that there is no room under the cap (as in the Mariners spent the money without thinking of the possibility of Weemac's loan not working out) and now Moss is left with inferior players to work with.

And finally, welcome 'home' Marcos Flores. I am happy for him, he wanted to play again in the A League.

Lost, Marco , weeMac, Bernie kept Fitzy, Kim, Cernak and some talented kids and Carceres ...

Also lost Arnold , Clark kept Moss

I would argue we are the only side going into Hal 10 with a weaker side than we had in Hal 8...

Not panic stations yet but ..

Just as an aside in early Hals we had Tommy P, then Perez, Musty, Rojic, Marco ... all very creative I see Kim more as a wide player ... looking for our creative players ..Caceres, Kalik maybe .. wonders aloud what direction we are heading ...

My understanding so please correct if you know different ... FFA pay clubs wages ... the salary cap has both and upper and a lower limit ... if you pay above the lower level of the salary cap but not to the upper level the club gets the difference... so say the lower limit is $ 10.00 and the Upper Limit is $ 12.00 ... say we pay $ 11.00, the club keeps the other dollar. If I am correct does anyone have any idea where we sit or plan to sit with the salary cap...
