Great news about Faz. Let’s be realistic. He probably won’t be here for three years and will most likely go in the next two windows. However, the length of contract ensures we will get a decent transfer fee for him. Let’s hope we can put an on-sell on this one when he goes.

His last chance to play in a World Cup and the league started in Costa Rica yesterday so plenty of time to put himself in front of the national team coach. Can only wish him all the best and thank him for his time with us.

Obviously the allegations against RT have driven us to not resign him. Horrible combo of events...

The backlash on WSW Twitter is kinda interesting to read

They also need to help him develop the attacking side of his game, as that will add one of the missing pieces about his play.
I don't want to sound like a broken record, but for me... he first needs to improve his positional sense and enemy awareness. Loses concentration, starts ball watching... a wide defender has to be constantly organising his wide midfielder to help pick up the runners and I'd call him inconsistent at best when it comes to that - cost us a few times last year. (Am I right Andrew Nabbout?)

Don't get me wrong - I still like him as a player (especially his last ditch tackling) and think he's got heaps of improvement in him, but he's very far from what he could be. As you'd expect for a 19 yo.

Everything you’ve mentioned are hallmarks of young players in their rookie year. And are quite easy fixes under the right coaches. (We have the right coaches)
On occasion he could pick the perfect through ball and deliver a wicked cross, good early traits that can be perfected. His timing of the tackle (and consistent cleanness of the tackle) is out of this world for such a young age.
Expect him to really take off this season.

100% Michael.

He was outstanding for a 18/19yo.....probably the BEST defensive prospect I have seen in our history.

I watched him in Mudgee (1st time i saw him in a legit game) and he was great for 60 mins and then some fat arse Blacktown player squashed his head and he dissolved and was gassed and started making a few mistakes. I thought Monty made a mistake picking him in front of Noah smith.
The 1st game of the season came and boy did I eat humble pie. He was a revelation. He had a couple of games where he showed some rawness but overall he was superb.
The Lisarow High boy is the real deal and will definitely play for Australia.
Allreet is normally a good judge but i'm tipping he was not a defender because he is wide of the mark this time.

In fact I still play left back in the O45s which means I'm VERY experienced.

I'm not bagging him - as I said, I like him as a player also. But he frustrated me a lot last year when attackers would flood his side and he wasn't even watching them, let alone adjust his position and call his wide midfielder to pick up.

If you need just one instance - the time (at home) he didn't even know Nabbout was coming at the far post - and he scored from Berenguer's cross.

Unless you are that white-bearded LB from Avoca then i wont be impressed. That guy was f**king impeccable, hard as nails and never made a mistake and played from 35A's through to 45's.....if you are he, then i'm listening.

Its not on a rookie 18yo LB to be running the players around him.....thats on the other players tbh.

We're on the same page here as you know. It's going to be very interesting to see how he goes without Kye next to him. Definitely a very good player already and has a lot of potential, still raw though. For all the praise for his tackles (which are very good on the whole) he still picked up quite a lot of yellows last season if I remember correctly.
