ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

A boy can dream but imagine getting Birighitti and Keogh.
Apparently Keogh is not keen to move since a lot of his family has immigrated to Perth. Perth also do not to release him or do a deal with other HAL clubs so it seems he will be getting a lot of money to do bugger all.

Perth is absolutely riddled with Poms and Paddies. If you are an ex pat you are going to be very settled in that City.

I don’t think he’s a bad option to have for depth and player management especially with an ACL campaign coming up. Expensive for depth sure but they had the cap space to carry him, unless they’re having trouble negotiating with some players off contract and need the space now perhaps?

Birighitti ticks all the CCM boxes.
Young
Aussie
Potential
He is the type of player we would hope to develop and then sell on in a few years.
He isnt Pearce or Kennedy so its a massive upgrade while we wait for MuNford to develop further (I'd argue he is better than Pearce already)
Is that really you FFC

Birighiti is another shit Newcastle scum butterfingered keeper. Justice saying

You all forgot his howler from Boznars 40yard lollipop straight at him.

No thanks he is shit. Couldn’t get a look in at City. Was overseas for a hot minute which i was surprised he even got an offer

Sorry not a fan
Give him a break. That howler was caused by my grandson tying his bootlaces together on the walk-out. :p

he's 1000% better than the keepers we've had the last few years.

In reality the choice was Australian because of the possible signing of a visa striker, between Duncan, Birighitti, HAL backup keepers or youngsters. Given that choice (and given that we do indeed sign a visa striker) I can't see that we could have done much better.

It will be interesting if Glover is signed and the proposed Reserve Grade gets up (the only reason I would be thinking of another keeper). You will have Pearce and Glover vying for the 2nd spot and the loser probably getting the better gig as the starter in the reserve grade with Munford and possibly Ryan Wood from North Shore Mariners vying for the other spot.

Edit - Ryan Wood may be the returning Mariners keeper - played in the Academy at the Subroto Cup in India 3 years ago.

You can only play 2 or 3 of your visa players in the ACL so having Bruno and Keogh offers very little for them as they will have to pick one. Bruno will want to play ACL and I would pick him over Keogh any day. Will be interesting to see how this pans out, I’m with some thinking he not be a good fit for us.

Isn't it 3 + 1 if they are from Asia (like their new Korean defender). I had 4+1 in my head for some reason but couldn't find anything to back that up. My point wasn't about playing them both in the ACL anyway, it was about squad management and giving Popa the chance to rest key players for/after ACL commitments while not suffering locally. We're also assuming no injuries for Fornarolli, if anything were to happen it would be nice to still be able to take a recognised striker.
