If Newman is the big winner for labor why has his popularity only slightly slipped in Queensland ?

It shows you most of the public servants that were cut originally voted labor.

The Liberal party in Queensland primary vote is at 48 per cent, down less than two points since the election.

I can see how this is a big issue for him, even when your hated your still liked more than a lobor member.

LNP have a 20-point lead over Labor, 60-40, on a two-party-preferred basis.

Newman is the preferred premier over Labor's Annastacia Palaszczuk, 55 per cent to 21 per cent.

Labor will not be picking up many seats in Queensland at the next federal election, they are still screwed.

If You can't win seats in Queensland that makes it really hard to win a election considering in Western Australia the state liberal party is still strong in the polls.

March election ... you heard it here first...

It depends how long they can keep Slipper and craig thompson out of jail.

Labor would not have paid off James Ashby if they believed Slipper done nothing wrong, they know slipper is in big trouble.

And the fact Slipper didn't show up to court the other day just makes things so much worse for him.

Nothing to with S & T.... my mate with close links says.... key reasons...

* Labour want to take on TA ... they see MT as a far more difficult person to beat so they don't want to give the libs time to change...

* The RB & FT are predicting a down turn in many parts of our economy and things like unemployment, spending etc the surplus could come under some pressure by mid next year...

* GJ is on a positive rise and policy outside taxation they think work in their favour...

Then again a week is a long time as they say and it all could change very quickly ...

I agree they want to go to the election against TA because MT would be a stronger challenge.

The surplus was never going to happen in the first place, the budget that was released was all about winning votes for an early election, this was easy to see and im still convinced them not putting the NBN in the budget staright away ruins there predicted surplus because from what I recall that was costing more than a couple of billion.

It is true GJ is rising in popularity but it wont help, she has lost the battle.

I still love how she scraped the Howard offshore processing policy and than brought it back and is claiming it as a labor policy, this is why Abbot doesn't say anything because Julia will steal his ideas.

What amazes me is Julia the other week she was trying to convince the Australian people last years budget ended up on track with what they predicted even they the deficit basically doubled from the original figure they released.

And I can not vote for Julia.

i think it'll be as late as possible .i wouldn't mind a buck on 7/12/13

No way, Julia will not risk handing down a new federal budget.

She knows this one is going to get out of control and will not risk being in charge when it happens, early next year for sure.

Not so funny;

Latest official reports on the insolvency trends in Australia released by and Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC) reveals that the level of corporate insolvencies has reached a record high. As many as 1532 companies have been declared as insolvents during February 2012 whereas the figure during the corresponding period in 2011 was 1299 which shows that there has been an increase of 233 corporate insolvencies in one year that comes to 15% which is considerably high.

Record Year of Insolvency

As many as 15,142 companies entered into official insolvency during the year 2011 which is rising in 2012. Historically also the figure of 1532 in February 2012 is the ever highest for that month in the entire country. The situation seems alarming to say the least.

State Wise Break Down

When one looks at the state wise analysis it will show that it is New South Wales that leads the trend setters with a massive 618 insolvency during February 2012 out of the total 1532 insolvencies declared; almost 40% of the total figure. Next in the list is Queensland with 374 insolvencies that constitutes 24% of the cases and Victoria with 368 cases comes next which is also around 23%. All other states together contribute only 13% of the insolvencies.

Rising Trend

Rising insolvency trends in Australia is clearly displayed in the figure of New South Wales that is almost double of the figure of the previous month in January 2012. Such trends have also put up a question mark on the economic policies and stability of the country as a whole.

Personal Insolvency Trends

When one looks at the personal insolvency trends in the country, some highly remarkable statistics come to the forefront that is surprising and unique at the same time. For the first time in the history of Australia, a Government agency; Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia (ITSA) has released public data on individual insolvencies in the country. It is also incredible that the pattern is almost similar to the corporate insolvency trends.

Well it's McKew's word against Gillard's. Given their past record, I know who I'd rather believe.

Add in to this mix Rudd yesterday saying for everyone to come clean on what really happened. We could be in for a bit of fun.
