Perhaps there's good reasoning why the club have accepted it.

It seems that the club could have risked sanctions from FIFA by taking the FFA to court (sorry, haven't got time to find / add a link at the moment).

That could have ended rather badly.

There is a belief held by most sports officials that while not perfect there systems need to be protected for the greater good of the game...

The salary cap used by the NRL, AFL & A-League and the AFL player draft are examples of systems that if challenged in court would fall over but everyone excepts as it is believed it is better for the game..

Also the idea of going to court to challenge rules can lead to every time I don't get my own way it's to the courts I go... this was a major issue the NSL had in that the governing body found it difficult to operate...

My reading of the Tea Leafs is the club proved beyond doubt they were right, FFA could have backed down and reviewed their rules or not... To back down after legal action is threatened creates also an atmosphere of off to the courts we go to get your own way... So maybe we should not have threatened legal action unless we where prepared to carry it through and all the consequences that go with it... But we have got so concessions that will not be made public is what I think, and proved to the football community that we did not cheat..

If FIFA had got wind of the MRP perhaps it would have been the FFA ending badly:

I presume that we were heavied ... which is the FFA way of doing things.

I wouldn't bother with making banners and props - they'll be confiscated in 5 seconds flat by the FFA Fun Police goons.

Better to all join together in voice and repeatedly sing the 'F**k the FFA' song very loudly. I doubt Foxtel will turn down the microphones.

Security will take longer than 5 seconds.
And foxtel will most certainly turn down their microphones again.

Why not a chant of PEREZ PEREZ for at least a minute as each half kicks off. Maybe just maybe all the crowd would get behind that sort of chant. In that way Foxtel wont touch the microphones and Perez will feel the love (and frustraton) that we all seem to have for him right now.

Official protest.

Opening whistle blows, crowd stands up and turn the other way for 1 minute.
Make for good press pics.

Yep. Would definately make a great statement.

How about Buckley in a noose, set on fire, for half time entertainment.

Real or a effigy!

Patricio Perez and the FFA … I like this much quoted piece … especially the bit about having a bit to drink and having faith in the system…

From "Ben Bland's All-Day Matinee" (from Just Folks...):

You know, this is the midst of the disillusionment and heartbreak season and, with the recent outbreak of that suicidal strain of despair up in Boston, well, you'd better keep a close watch on your emotions.

So remember the seven danger signals of depression: that's a general and lasting feeling of hopelessness, inability to concentrate, loss of self-esteem, fear of rejection, feelings of guilt, misdirected anger, and extreme dependency on others.

At the first sign of these symptoms, friends, follow these simple rules: keep working, drink as much as possible, and... take your television's advice.

And y'know more TV's recommend an amazing new psychic breakthrough than any other, and that's...

Confidence in the System.

Fast, safe, and guaranteed through constant Federal control, Confidence in the System will keep THEM in power longer, longer, longer, and tend to calm and obscure the miseries of disillusionment and despair.

In easy-to-swallow Propaganda form or new fast-acting Thought Control, that's Confidence in the System.

So have some... today.

The relationship between the club and the FFA is a complicated one. I can understand why they won't chase it to court. But there still should of been as easier way to appeal.

Is there any way to get a message to PP to let him know how we fans feel? I don't mean just a message on a facebook page, which I'm not sure he would see anyway.
If he's still thinking about going home, perhaps something personal from the fans may help him decide to stay.

How about a banner from the upper northern stand:
"Nos encanta Patricio. Por favor permanezca con nosotros."
Roughly translated it means we love you Patricio, please stay with us. I don't speak very many words of Spanish, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say piss off you diving bastard, go home :)
Corny I know, but it might make him happy. It wouldn't be missed by the cameras either.

I suspect Patricio is not allowed to be at the stadium while suspended, but do it anyway and this...

+ 999,999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, to the power of 999,999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, 999, * infinity

Should be sung LOUD, PROUD AND OFTEN. Given the publicity and (at least local) indignantion, might get the whole stadium involved.

People do sometimes hear chants and ask "what are they singing?" but this should be obvious especially if there's enough FREE PATRICIO PEREZ, PEREZ IS INNOCENT, <3 <3 PATRICIO <3 <3 (in case he see's pics/video, coz he's got no English!), etc. banners they'll soon work it out.

northern spirit, Jesse Fink mentioned your Facebook group in his latest article on TWG.

"A Facebook page was even set up hilariously called “Free Patricio Perez”, giving the impression he was imprisoned at Robben Island and not at home marking time on his PlayStation."

My opinions-

We are ...

1.The least likely club(without any doubt) to simmulate a dive but..... we have been the first to get punished.
2.The least likely club to complain but get punished first.
3.The club with the least resources and also the smallest geographic area are the first to get punished because we will be less affected by negative publicity...Honestly...could you see a Sydney Marquee player copping a 2 week ban?

But...we have to do this and lets get thru with the next 2 weeks with the pride and determination we associate wwith this club. Let's not get down to their level, whinge, whine and moan.

We are better than that.
