ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Guys I've just merged 3 topics as we don't need a new one for every update.
Keep the posts coming though.

Cheers!

I posted on the World Game regarding people saying there was was minimal contact and Reddy would have only brushed him at most.
What I want to know is how the people commenting on the articles about this can tell how hard Reddy has touched his foot by watching a slow motion replay.

The normal speed footage shows that Reddy comes out quite quickly at Perez's foot. Add to that the speed Perez is moving and the fact that he is changing direction, meaning that he has decreased balance. Watching the slow motion replays show that there is a high possibility of contact, but you cannot tell how fast or how hard Reddy's hand is hitting Perez's ankle/shin.

I don't think it matters how hard the contact was in this case. Simply touching someone's trailing leg when they are running results in that person being put off balance. F

or example, you know how easy it is to make someone fall over when you ankle tap them. Even in open play in the middle of the field this will result in a foul and would certainly test the patience of the ref if someone did it repeatedly.

As far as Reddy's guilt or innocence of fouling, the question is whether the contact put Perez off balance or impeded him sufficiently to disadvantage him. The fact that Perez did allow himself to go down easily means that it's pretty much impossible to tell just how much effect any contact may have had. It seems as though referees these days accept contact and falling over as a valid foul. Perhaps what they should be doing is looking for contact and the amount of effort expended in maintaining balance or control. This is what impressed me most about Mat Simon early in his A-League career - he used to always do his best to stay on his feet and let the ref make the call. He scored at least a few goals due to his perseverence. Alas, even Matty has now been conditioned by the way the refs control the game and goes down in preference to making a big effort to staying upright.

One thing is for damn certain, this single piece of garbage has generated probably the biggest media storm and interest the A-league has seen yet.

Each article on FFT has had thousands of views and hundreds of if not thousands of comments, I mean, I for one have been following this story like a man posessed, newspapers are cleaning up and i cant express how happy I am that the best football journos in the country are on Perez' side, I really hope that if the decision is not reversed, (which unless it is being discussed as we speak, it wont happen) that the fans protest at the game.

I am talking MASSIVE SIGNS, COSTUMES OF CRIMINALS IN HANDCUFFS, PROPS, A CARDBOARD ELECTRIC CHAIR, LETHAL INJECTIONS, ANYTHING THAT REPRESENTS WHAT A TOTALITARIAN SYSTEM OVER-RULING AND BULLYING THE PUBLIC, A SIGN THAT SAYS "FREE TIBET" WITH TIBET CROSSED OUT AND PEREZ WRITTEN UNDERNEATH

In all seriousness, I live in remote N.T so I can not be a part of this, but if someone is interested or there is a head of this sort of PR, please contact me and I will happily contribute funding to ensure it happens, I have not felt this passionate about something in a long time!

Go Shipwreck .... post of the month great passion mate ... what part of NT

None of it seems to matter .. apparently only the FFAs views matter:

I hope those who are good at doing banners are hard at work: http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/182055,ffa--the-bans-stand.aspx

I wouldn't bother with making banners and props - they'll be confiscated in 5 seconds flat by the FFA Fun Police goons.

Better to all join together in voice and repeatedly sing the 'F**k the FFA' song very loudly. I doubt Foxtel will turn down the microphones.

There was a lad,
Only 5 foot none.
Perez his name,
Went on a run.
Perez is here,
Perez is there,
Perez is every,
F**king where.
He got tripped,
In the box.
And was felled,
Like an ox.
The FFA suits,
Slapped a fine.
Made it up,
That’s the crime.
We are here,
and we are mad.
For the lad,
we are sad.
All that’s left,
For us to say,
is f**k Sydney
and the FFA!
