ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I won't go to Brooky or NSO.
I will be buying at least 3 full memberships and 2 or 3 x 6 game memberships.
I will buy full membership for me but if there is not a 11 game membership.....the second two memberships I will probably downgrade to a 6 game membership.....therefore the club will lose money.
Come on the "Pirate ship" To Brookvale!!

Not true.

Romario drew 15k and Fowler 11k while playing for he worst team in the league. Harry drew 13k in his first season with Victory and he didn't even end up playing (typical).

Coasites know who is worth watching. We are loyal and our support is solid but the club take the piss and we haven't had a draw card since Aloisi.
We had a big crowd out to see ADP in what would have been his first match at BT.

Almost sounds like fun....however I can't support the moving of any of our games to Sydney.

Our club spends less than other clubs on players, sells anyone half decent and still gets better crowds than Perth, Heart/city, Adelaide and Wellington.
Yet the only club I hear constantly whining is us.

Chasing imaginary fans in Sydney is stupid. You advertise to and develop your own local market properly before chasing rainbows in the distance.

I agree we punch above our weight in all departments and do well. This is commendable. The issue is we're just not sustainable the way we are until the TV money is up there or a billionaire decides we're worth dropping millions into each year. I dont forsee either of these anytime soon. How much is Charlesworth willing to lose remaining with the status quo.

I dont believe we're going to North sydney for the 'fans'. I believe its an exercise in attempting to market to a multi billion dollar corporate area where the local council is willing to foot the bill to play there.

Further, following Bruce's 'low hanging fruit' theory I believe the manly adventure is to attempt to tap into the large playerbase or people already converted/aligned to the sport of football. Even pulling humble numbers from this area in my opinion could be huge for us.

We should be doing all we can here no doubt. But we must admit our local market has been apathetic and self entitled at times. Contrary to Bilo's experience from what ive seen of my local club all they seem to do is have their hand out with a 'what can the mariners do for them' attitude with its benefits shared among the inner clique.

You are right with the 'what can the mariners do for them' attitude. Unfortunately the Mariners need the support of the local clubs. The local clubs don't need the Mariners. People will always play the game. Local clubs don't needs supporters or crowds. Its about playing. The Mariners however do need to tap into the clubs to access supporters. They just don't do this very well.

Fair point Bilo. Small local clubs would continue to survive without them but I think its ignorant of them to take for granted the benefits that a succesful profesional team here can bring them.

The North Sydney Bears couldn't attract any of this corporate support when they had been in the area for nearly 100 years. I doubt we would get that support when we play one game a year in the area.

To use another NRL example the Northern Eagles debacle proved that the northern beaches fans will not support a team that isn't from their area.

Its all pie in the sky stuff which will make no difference in the long run.

The club is selling it's soul when it moves games away from the coast, and hopefully they learn that before its too late.

What you say makes sense and explains a lot.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
someone send the dickhead owner a concise and well written email as relates to the failures of the North Sydney Bears and the Northern Eagles...maybe, MAYBE...he will read it and give up on his pipe dream to shift the team with any degree of success....or he will hit delete one sentence in

People said and still say today putting a professional football team on the central coast was pie in the sky stuff. Im sure glad they did though.

North Sydney is also not the town it used to be. It is not the financial or advertising hub it used to be.

Plenty of businesses have moved out of North Sydney as well.

Without Berry Street & Blueberries NS sucks

Yep both long dead. Only a hand full of good pubs for after work drinks otherwise it's a ghost town.
